DOEPFER / A-180-2 Multiples 3

Variations

This module is used to distribute the input signal from the DOEPFER. While it comes factory-configured with 4 connections x 2 channels, it can be used with 8 channels by soldering connections on the circuit board.

The A-180-2 MULTIPLES is a simple multiple module for distributing any audio or CV signal. Multiple jacks are interconnected; for example, inputting a signal into one jack will simultaneously output nearly identical signals from the other three jacks.

It is factory-configured as a 4-jack multiple divided into two groups. It can be converted to an 8-jack multiple by connecting a solder bridge on the printed circuit board. While this module is quite ""primitive,"" it is frequently needed when patching modular synthesizers (for example, when distributing clock signals or CV). Large A-100 systems require a sufficient number of multiple modules.

Aside from the difference in front panel width, the A-180-1 and A-180-2 are functionally identical (A-180-1 is 4HP, A-180-2 is 2HP). Also, being a passive module, it does not require a power supply.

For distributing CV signals used for pitch control across multiple VCO modules, we recommend the buffered Multiple A-185-2 Precision CV Adder. This module features a built-in buffer (and many additional features, including CV summing), which helps avoid small voltage losses that can occur in pitch control applications.
