Variations

The A-149-4 Quad Random Voltage Source is a module that generates four random voltages that satisfy selected conditions for each trigger input.

Manual control to select conditions:
Oct. Range (Octave Range) knob : This parameter sets the number of octaves covered by the random voltage (0 to +5V, setting the knob fully clockwise generates only 0V).
Grid button (6 radio buttons that light up): This parameter sets one of 6 grid modes for the random voltage.
Oct. (Octaves): octaves
Quint (Octaves + Quint): octaves + 5 degrees
Chords : major or minor chords
Scale : major or minor scales
Semi (Semitones): semitones
Cont. (Continuous). Unquantized stepless voltage
Minor / Major (two radio buttons that light up) : This parameter sets the minor or major scale when in Chord or Scale mode. In all other Grid modes, this parameter is disabled.
+6 / +7 (two illuminated radio buttons): This parameter sets whether a 6th or 7th degree pitch is added. It is valid only when Oct., Quint, Chord, or Scale is selected in Grid mode.
The output voltage follows the 1V/Oct standard (i.e., a voltage difference of 1/12V per semitone), with the exception of Continuous mode. The voltage in this mode is completely random and does not follow 1V/Oct. (not a multiple of 1/12V).

A new random voltage at the outputs (CV Out 1 to 4) is generated by triggering the rising edge of the signal input to the corresponding trigger input (Trig. In 1 to 4) Trig. In is internally connected from top to bottom from 1 to 4. The minimum trigger level is +2.5V and the maximum is +12V.

Building a random polyphonic patch (using a combination of polyphonic modules A-111-4, A-105-4, A-132-8, A-141-4 and A-157 as trigger source, A-173-1/2 as polyphonic structure transposition, etc.)
For applications requiring multiple random voltages
Capable of generating 4 digital pseudo-noise signals when a high freq. trigger signal is input
