What is the difference between the MACKIE CR4 and CR4-X? [MACKIE]

1: Change of on-board power amplifier operation method
CR4: Class AB power amplifier
CR4-X: Class D power amplifier
CR4-X has improved thermal efficiency.

2: Improvement of frequency characteristics
Many have pointed out that the original CR series is a little too strong for monitor speakers.
The CR-X series has been tuned with slightly suppressed low frequencies to bring it closer to the monitor sound.

3: Improvement of front baffle
As can be said for 2 above, brushed metal processing material is used for the front baffle to make it closer to the monitor sound.
There was also an opinion that the original CR series is made of resin and there is some resonance of the baffle when it is played back at a loud volume.
The CR-X series reproduces more optimal sound by changing the material and shape of the front baffle.

4: Change of accessories
The original CR series comes with an isolation pad to suppress the low frequencies of all models.
We were able to suppress the low range by laying an isolation pad according to the customer's preference.
The CR-X series has been tuned more optimally, so we conclude that no isolation pad is needed.
Therefore, the CR-X series (excluding the 5-inch model) does not come with an isolation pad.
However, the 5-inch models (CR5-X, CR5-XBT) reproduce more low frequencies, so isolation pads are still included.
