There were red and white cables. Is there a polarity? [SONY / X-2113-142-2]
Headphones and earphones have polarity.
Wiring with red as HOT and white as COLD is common. Even if the wiring is made with the wrong polarity, the sound will still be heard, but it will cause a sense of discomfort due to the opposite phase.
