ZOOM ( ズーム ) / nanoblock MS-50G+ MultiStomp

Spring is here! How is everyone doing?

This is the season when many people start music due to starting a new school year and the like; perhaps many of you have touched an electric guitar for the first time and learned the concept of an effects pedal.
A favorite among a wide range of guitarists, from beginners to experienced players, is the versatile multi-effector "MS-50G+" released by ZOOM. It is a standard model that packs everything from distortion and modulation to amp simulation into the size of a compact pedal, achieving both authentic sound, portability, and ease of operation. I heard that this multi-effects pedal has now been turned into a block model in the "nanoblock" series, so I bought it!!

Here is the package.

It likely follows the standard package size and design for the nanoblock series, featuring an image of the finished block model alongside an image of the actual effect pedal.

This product was originally a limited-quantity gift for customers who purchased ZOOM's MultiStomp series, including the MS-50G+.

It’s currently available for individual sale (as of April 16, 2026, in stock at Sound House).

The following is the description from the official ZOOM website:

In a collaborative project with KAWADA's nanoblock®, ZOOM's highly popular guitar effect pedal "MS-50G+ MultiStomp" has arrived as a nanoblock® in the smallest size ever! There are a total of 190 parts. The built-in effects displayed on the LCD screen are also recreated with stickers. It is an irresistible item for fans—fun to build and delightful to display.

■ Specifications
Number of parts: 190 pieces
Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
Target age: 12 years and older
External dimensions: 35 mm (W) × 60 mm (D) × 32 mm (H)
Weight: 20 g
Power consumption: 0 W

The "Power consumption: 0 W" was indeed clearly written on the manufacturer's page (lol).

Now, let's start building.

The contents of the set look like this.

The color instruction manual is very easy to understand. You can proceed with the assembly very easily just by looking at the diagrams. I was able to build it with great enjoyment, constantly being surprised by things like, "Oh, so this is how it fits in here!"

↑ Mid-assembly. It's fun to see familiar parts, like the four knob sections, gradually taking shape.

↑ The main body was finished in no time! The clear screen section captures the atmosphere very well.

↑ Now for applying the stickers. I used tweezers, but you could easily apply them with your fingers as well.

↑ Complete!

So, the "ZOOM / nanoblock MS-50G+ MultiStomp" is finished!

What do you think? With the four control knobs, the four buttons (even without the arrows), the middle switch, and the red light, I think it captures the impression of the actual device very well. The way the curved surfaces are handled gives it a "pixel art" vibe now that it's in block form, which is very cute.
The reproduction of the DC INPUT jack on the back and the INPUT/OUTPUT jacks on the sides is also excellent. By combining pipe-shaped parts, they recreated the color-coding of the real thing while firmly maintaining the atmosphere that says, "This is where the cables connect."

↑ There are spare stickers and parts included. It’s reassuring in case you happen to lose one.

By the way, the "Krampus Drive" displayed on the nanoblock screen is an effect actually built into the real MS-50G+; it is a ZOOM-original preamp. It has a high-gain sound with a solid contour, and it is a patch that I (the author) personally like as well.

↑ Look at this size compared to a guitar pick. It gives off a nice sense of presence on a desktop while being a size that doesn't take up much space.

Now, for what you’ve all been waiting for—let’s line it up next to the real thing!

I plugged in the power to try and match the atmosphere of the screen.

The size is about one-fourth of the original. They look like they’re parent and child. I think the level of reproduction is quite high. Comparing them like this, I realized that the MS-50G+ is actually a design that makes frequent use of curved surfaces. As I wrote earlier, the nanoblock version turns those into something like pixel art, maintaining the original's design while completing the design as a block model.

That concludes the assembly and real-unit comparison report for the ZOOM / nanoblock MS-50G+ MultiStomp.
It is a quite rare project to turn an effect pedal into blocks, and it really shows the creativity of ZOOM. Since nanoblock itself is a popular block series, I enjoyed everything from the assembly process to the final finished product. I feel like the miniaturization of musical instruments has become a trend (maybe?) Lately, as someone who loves miniatures, I would love for ZOOM to try this kind of challenge with other models or for other manufacturers to follow suit. Let’s keep our expectations high! See you again!
