We participated in "Narita Hub Groovin," held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the former Chiba Bank site on Narita Omotesando, by providing support in the form of audio equipment!
What’s Narita Hub Groovin?
Narita Hub Groovin is a cultural event aimed at young people in their 20s to 40s, and it’s centered around art and music culture in downtown Narita. The event is organized primarily by Narita no Okage (now Okage Planning), which has been planning music and town revitalization events in the city since before COVID-19.
In downtown Narita (Narita Omotesando), where there are few live houses, instrument shops, record stores, apparel, or general stores aimed at young people, the event focuses on the lack of precedent for events targeting the 20–40-year-old age group — the demographic that will help build the town’s future.
The event is designed as a new form of local revitalization and content to attract people beyond just the well-known tourist destination Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. It also aims to promote the music and art culture of the city and surrounding areas.
Now that COVID-19 has passed, visitors, inbound tourists, and events have returned to the city, and the lively atmosphere is back. However, for the digitally native Gen Z who are interested in music and art, the event seeks to provide physical experiences and opportunities to interact with tangible things that are otherwise rarely available in the city.
The organizing group, who are themselves in their 30s and 40s, are not just aiming to enjoy it for their own generation, but they also hope to pass down ways of enjoying the culture to the younger generation in their 20s.

This time we met on-site at 8 AM!!
What was different from last time was that a stage was set up for the dance contest and live performances.
The yellow “Narita Hub Groovin” lettering with the blue background looked insanely cool!

Now then, let’s go ahead and talk about the equipment we brought in♪
Main Speakers
These are new products by QSC!
They are 3-way (high, mid, low) column speakers with a maximum output of 3000W.
Setup is simple — just insert the array speaker section onto the subwoofer.
I used them with the default settings, with the volume knob set to the 12 o’clock position Here’s a very straightforward configuration.
Since both black and white models are available, you can choose according to the location and purpose.

Floor Monitor
This is a 12-inch powered speaker equipped with a battery that allows up to 10 hours of continuous use!
Since the power on site was provided by a generator, I chose this model for just in case ♪
The controls are limited to just the volume knob, which is nice and simple. I used this one at the 12 o’clock position as well!
It was incredibly light, making it super easy to carry and lift by myself, which is a big plus for us middle-aged folks, lol.
For a stage of this size, the volume was more than enough!
Because it runs on battery, you’re not restricted by short power cables, so being able to move it freely was a huge advantage!!

Main Mixer
As a distributor for MACKIE, I went ahead and tried it out on-site at the event♪
This is a high-end analog mixer that features 3-band EQ with sweepable mid frequencies, multi-effects, and supports multi-track recording.
The points I found great about it while using it were:
- You can apply effects to each of the two monitor outputs
→ Being able to easily adjust with the FX TO MON1 and FX TO MON2 knobs felt like a very user-friendly feature! - By pressing the SOLO button and not pressing the LR switch, you can check the audio before playing the track
→ This was extremely helpful for checking the audio brought in on the day!

DJ Monitor Speakers
Black speakers really match the black DJ table!
Although they are studio monitors and mainly intended for music production, the easy-to-monitor JBL sound and sharp appearance made both the look and the sound spot on.

Collapsible DJ Booth
This simple DJ booth literally supported the DJs' awesome mixes from behind the scenes. It consists of two side panels and two front panels arranged like a folding screen, and is completed simply by unfolding them and placing the tabletop on top.
The DJ Booth can be assembled in just a few minutes by one person, requires no tools, and if you add corner shelves, you can also place a PC or compact monitor speakers, making it a perfect fit for outdoor events like this one.
Also, the side parts are covered with black fabric attached with Velcro. This allows some wind to pass through, reducing the risk of being caught by strong gusts during outdoor events. And, it's super lightweight.
I didn’t use it this time, but you can also insert a middle shelf to place DJ record cases or turntable covers♪
Wireless Microphone
・AKG/WMS40 PRO MINI2 VOCAL SET DUAL

Just turn on the power and pairing completes automatically that’s ready to use immediately.
The price range is also affordable, making this my top-recommended wireless mic!
Now, let’s introduce the “behind-the-scenes heroes” — gear that can’t be seen from the front but still are absolutely essential!
Power Conditioner
・CLASSIC PRO PDM/R

Power is almost never delivered at a constant 100V. The amount of connected equipment and instantaneous loads (like low frequencies) cause fluctuations.
This device eliminates those concerns by stabilizing the output to 100V ±5V.
Multicable Box

This is a handy item that allows you to send 4 channels of signal through a single LAN cable.
This time, I placed it under the center of the stage and used it to send signals to 2 main speakers and 2 floor monitors!
Fewer cables mean a cleaner setup and less chance for trouble — it’s a win-win, right?
For more on how to operate it, check out this article as well!

Various Adapter Connectors

Although we usually check in advance and prepare cables to avoid having to use them, troubles inevitably happen on-site. Just having this box gives a sense of security.
Since I am also in charge of the PA speakers, I want to share my honest opinions on the sound of the main speakers, the QSC/KC12.
“The sound is on a whole different level.”
Exactly.
Until now, I have had many opportunities to listen to various column speakers from different manufacturers and price ranges, but I feel the KC12’s sound stands out leagues above the rest.
It may be hard to explain in words, but it has:
- Deep bass comparable to a subwoofer
- Crisp, clear mids and highs that reach a wide area
- Seamless, natural connection between the 3-way frequency bands
- Power with plenty of headroom
- Cool and stylish appearance
At the very first sound check, I was once again moved by hearing that sound.
The DJs at the venue immediately praised it too, saying things like “It sounds great today!” and “I’m looking forward to DJing!” — I felt as happy as if my own kids were being praised, lol.
During the day, many people showed interest, asking “What kind of speakers are these?” and I couldn’t help but wear a somewhat proud expression, and I think I might have lol.
I feel like I found the optimal solution for uses like microphones and music playback, as in this event. If you prioritize volume and sound quality, QSC/KC12 is by far the top recommendation.
Well, enough of my PA person comments — now, let’s playback the main part of the event!
There were so many wonderful shops, and although there were only a few, I’d like to introduce some of them♫

wife_p’s Hair Accessories x2
The first things my two daughters in my family grabbed were the pink one on the left (younger sister) and the light blue one (older sister).
Without knowing they’d be involved with the preparations, they woke up early in the morning and spent time with me, so I gave these to them as a reward♫

At Risa’s shop from ATTITUDE, I bought a magnet!
I was torn because everything was so nice, but I finally got the yellow frame magnet, the third one down on the right, “DO THE RIGHT THING”!
The fact that it matched the color scheme of Narita Hub Groovin was also a deciding factor♪

Vintage Clothing Shop PLANTS
Vintage clothing is a once-in-a-lifetime encounter, isn’t it♫ The moment I flicked through the hangers and found this, I decided right then that I had to take it home lol.
I saw on Instagram Live that the store manager started a band!! (9/29 at 11 PM)
DUB&PEACE! lol!

Kumomi Factory
Isn’t it amazing!? These really cool handmade pieces were created by handmade carved records!!
If you see them up close, you’ll definitely be amazed at the fine craftsmanship!! By the way, our home displays a Betty Boop piece♫

T's BBQ.JAPAN
I had a powerful burger called the Texas Smash!!
If you’re after a seriously meaty taste, I highly recommend this burger joint♫ Just thinking about it makes my mouth water lol.
Be sure to visit their store at “TOMISATO BASE,” a complex near Tomisato Joyful Honda!

Wednesdayskateboardshop
Instagram: wednesdayskateboardshop
A skateboard shop located in Narita City! The skateboard experience corner was bustling until sunset!! They kindly, carefully, and casually told us a lot of helpful information, so thank you. My daughter has ranked a skateboard at the top of her wishlist now. lol
First Live Act: aimi, who has become a must-have presence at Narita music events♫
Loved by everyone from kids to adults!
Not only is she a wonderful person, but her singing voice is really amazing.
With her cool, serious, and gentle vibes — overall, she has an emotionally rich voice.
If you haven’t heard her yet, please give her a listen!
A recent recommendation is the song “Black Coffee”♪
By the way, my two daughters are already serious fans lol.

Second Live Act: 2LOW
Instagram: 2low_sakuraeastside
Full of catchy, easy-to-listen-to rap tracks that make hip-hop feel close and familiar♪
Listening to 2LOW’s music made me start liking this genre too♪
He’s an incredibly reliable person, both as a musician and as a fellow dad, someone I deeply respect!
Having such a cool adult nearby motivates me to do my best too lol.

And then, the dependable DJs of Narita!!

Foomin was secretly using CLASSIC PRO’s new earphones!!

Yassy beautifully kicked off the event with song choices that perfectly matched the atmosphere and tempo♪

u-ta always plays upbeat songs that make everyone feel great, regardless of age♪
I never imagined the day would come when I would get to perform alongside someone I admired way back in my twenties!
And this time, there was also a dance contest, which was hugely exciting♪
The energetic and sparkling dances from all the groups of kids under 15 were so cool!!

I ran through the entire event again this time, from the start (8 AM) to the end (6 PM)!
It was so much fun.
It made me happy.
I met people.
I was so moved.
I want to go again.
I think a place where the desire to energize the community gatherings is something amazing and wonderful for just existing.
For me, the moment I feel the most joy is seeing people enjoying performances full of such passion, watching live shows with loud music coming from the speakers.
So, at the next opportunity, I want to keep participating and supporting events with sound to help make many people smile again♪
The homey atmosphere of Narita Hub Groovin is really great♪
Here are some fragments of the live scenes as well♪
