[Video Release!!] Trying Out the EON208P!

♪Here comes Santa Clause Here comes Santa Clause~ ♪ And just like that, 2025 is already nearing its end. Everyone, what kind of year was 2025 for you? Since I’m aiming to become a Pokémon Master, the biggest event of the year—or rather, the most memorable thing for me—was probably riding the emotional roller coaster of winning and losing the Nintendo Switch 2 lottery. I remember how X was buzzing with celebrities posting “I won” or “I lost.” As for me, I lost every single official Nintendo pre-order lottery and somehow made it all the way to the fifth round (?). But in the end, I managed to get a Switch 2 through official channels within the year. My wallet feels a lot lighter since I treated this as an early Christmas present, but I’m satisfied. This definitely bumps my journey toward becoming a leveled-up Pokémon Master!! During the year-end and New Year holidays, I’m going to play Pokémon while watching YouTube!

One of the biggest features of the EON208P is, without a doubt, its portability. The left and right speakers and the central powered mixer snap together into a single unit, allowing you to carry it like a suitcase. It weighs about 17.6 kg. While it’s not as light as the EON ONE Compact, it’s light enough that an adult man can carry it with one hand, and a woman can comfortably hold it with both hands. Loading it into a car is easy, and with just this one unit, a café can instantly turn into a live music venue, or a conference room into a fully equipped seminar space.

Once you’re used to it, it takes less than five minutes from opening the box to producing sound.

1. Unlatch and unfold: Release the latches on the unit, and the central mixer and left and right speakers pop apart into three pieces.
2. Just connect two cables: Simply plug the included speaker cables from the back of the mixer into the left and right speakers. The connectors are easy to recognize, so there’s no confusion.
3. Power it on and you’re ready: After that, just plug it into an outlet and connect a microphone or smartphone, and you’re ready to start your event right away.

With a typical PA system, you need complex wiring like connecting the amp to the mixer, and then to the speakers, but with the EON208P, all the necessary functions are consolidated into the central mixer. This means no complicated wiring knowledge is required, and you won’t get confused running cables around. After the event, teardown is just as easy—simply snap the three units back together. The cables are also designed to fit into a storage space on the back of the mixer, helping prevent those “Wait, where did I put that cable?” moments and avoiding lost-cable troubles.

You might think, “Mixers look complicated with all those knobs,” but the EON208P’s control panel is extremely simple and well designed. It has four inputs for microphones or instruments, plus two stereo input channels. Channel 3 supports Hi-Z input, allowing you to plug a guitar in directly. It also includes a built-in reverb that adds a pleasant sense of space to the vocals.

As for the all-important sound quality—that is JBL, after all. The combination of an 8-inch woofer and a high-frequency driver delivers both rich low end and clear, open highs. The clarity of the midrange stands out in particular. Speech carries clearly to every corner of the venue, and in acoustic live performances, even the delicate nuances of instruments are faithfully reproduced.
