On Sunday, February 12, the band-oriented music event Land Park, was held at the bustling popular bar Barge Inn NARITA in Narita where they changed their purpose from holding the music events REHUB and Narita no Okage that took place in 2022 to Land Park, a music event showcasing live bands.
What is Land Park?...
It started as a live event where people in their teens and 20s living in Narita and surrounding areas such as Sakura could casually get together with other people of the same age in the Narita area.Landmark is different from other conventional events because it incorporates DJs, fashion, classics, and other ideas unique to the younger generations. The event was started based on the concept of a free live performance (in an open space) with no admission fee.

Barge Inn NARITA is a long-established bar in Narita that has been a regular venue for Narita no Okage. We are grateful to Barge Inn NARITA for providing the event space for this year's event as well.

Equipment was set up by performers and people related to the event who brought their own equipment. Some of the products were no longer manufactured and no longer available for sale.
- Guitar amplifier : Peavey BANDIT 112 , Marshall DSL40C
- Bass amplifier : Peavey BASIC 112 Bass
- Drum set : Pearl
- PA mixer : MG20XU , MG16
For speakers, we asked Mr. Kawanishi, the sempai who writes a blog about the event on Narita no Okage, to lend us his JBL EON712 main speakers and JBL EON710 floor monitors that he usually brings to events.

The EON700 series was, as always, light enough to be installed by one person without problems, and had a good quality sound that covered the entire range from low to high frequencies.
The bar opened at 4:00 p.m.
It was a Sunday and a pedestrian paradise, so the approaching Naritasan was quite crowded.
There were not only customers who were looking for the performers, but also a variety of customers entered the store, and the venue gradually became crowded.
I was excited to see all the performers who were performing together for the first time.
And finally, the live performance started at 5:00 p.m.!
The first to perform was Tomoya Ando.

Mr. Ando played an acoustic guitar and played mainly chill music. Using various effects pedals at his feet, he changed the tone of his voice and guitar, and used a sampler for a gentle yet technical performance. The refined musicality created a very comfortable space, and I think many people who were there felt intoxicated, and it wasn’t because they had been drinking.
Second act was Takahito Suzue.

Suzue's music has the impression of an R&B-like groove with a gentle POPs sound. The DJ played along with the backing soundtrack. The style of performance by a singer-songwriter with a mix of music reminded me of recent singer-songwriters and artists who perform at outdoor festivals such as Fuji Rock. The music was technical and great in a different direction from the first set of Ando's.
Third act was UN

RYUCHANG is a regular DJ at REHUB who was the back-up DJ for the HIP-HOP style music that was started by RYUCHANG. After following UN's performance of not only rap skills but also stirring and talking, he completely changed the space of the venue in a flash. The performance was very exciting. I have been listening to a variety of HIP-HOP since I performed at REHUB with 2LOW, but this was the first time for me to listen to HIP-HOP other than 2LOW live.
Fourth act was Peeps in pieces.

Peeps in pieces is a band led by one of the performers from Sound House, Hiroki Yamashita. The band's sound is like that of rock bands such as ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION that were popular around the early 2000s. Personally, the music was hot and reminded me of the feeling of how fun rock music is when I go to festivals. After the performance, I was told that the songs they performed were their own original compositions. I had heard Yamashita's songs through streaming, so when he played a song I remembered hearing, I even got excited.
The drummer of the band, Daiki Yamaguchi, works for a video company, so he helped us with taking photos and videos at this event.
Fifth act was JIN

JIN and Atom are rappers of the same age outside the company who I first met when I came to Narita, and they have performed in Sakura City and other areas. These two rappers worked with me to plan this event. The music is not HIP-HOP, but POPs. Recently, the number of POPs rappers has been increasing, and it has become a music genre that is gaining recognition. His songs were easy to listen to as POPs songs, as he not only raps but also sings as if he were a singer. The last song was sung by the aforementioned Atom-kun, and the performance was very satisfying, and it was one of my personal favorite tunes.
Sixth act was Sheerecs

The last band to perform was one I formed after arriving in Narita. This year, the music and members of the band started to come together, and since this was the official start of the band, it was the first time for some of the members to perform live. The band's main songs are a fusion of pop, rock, and electro, and they incorporate a variety of other genres and musical styles. Unfortunately, the drummer was unable to come to the concert due to a death in the family, so we had to ask Sound House employees to help us out on short notice. I also had to give up my keys and computer to perform only vocals. I was very nervous because I usually do not do only vocals. At a later meeting, each of us had our own reflections on the event, but I was glad to hear that they enjoyed the live performance.

The idea for this project was conceived because there are almost no live houses in Narita where bands and singers can perform. The organizers hope to continue to create an environment where live performances can take place in a variety of venues without worrying about the location, and they strive to hold events in a variety of genres.
It is very encouraging for all the performers and live staff to be approached by customers they meet for the first time and like what they hear!
If you are in the neighborhood, please feel free to drop by and enjoy the show free of admission.
