To all the guitarists out there, what reverb pedal do you use? Reverb is indispensable for creating guitar sounds. Some of you may want to choose a good one to get a great sound, but there are so many different types that you may not know what effects pedal is good.

In this article, I would like to introduce eight reverb effects pedals that I recommend! I hope this will help you in your search for a new reverb. Please read the list until the end.

First of all, before introducing the products, I would like to briefly explain what exactly reverb is.

What is Reverb?

It’s best to imagine the echoes of sound emitted in a bath or concert hall when explaining a reverb sound. Reverb is an effect pedal that adds to the original sound of the guitar by creating echoes and reverberations created in such spaces!
You can use reverb in a variety of ways, such as applying it thinly all the time to make the sound blend in with the band's sound or applying it strongly during a guitar solo to make the guitar sound more grand. Of course, it can be used for various other purposes as well, depending on your ideas.

Types of Reverb

There are many types of reverb.
In this article, I will discuss five of the most common types

Plate reverb

This type of reverb reproduces the tried-and-true method of vibrating a large metal plate to create a reverberant interval. Often used for vocals, it is characterized by a natural reverberant sound with a quick rise of sound.

Spring Reverb

This is a reverb obtained through resonating a spring.
It is often used on guitars and some models are built into guitar amplifiers. It has an analog feel and is characterized by a warm, calm sound.

Hall reverb

This reverb reproduces the reverberant intervals obtained in a large space such as a hall.
It is characterized by the long reverberation and delayed echoes from the original sound.

Room Reverb

The opposite of home reverb, room reverb creates a sense of reverb by reproducing a small space.
It is characterized by a quick rise in sound and clean reverberation.

Shimmer Reverb

This reverb produces a unique and distinctive sound.
It is characterized by a shimmering, fantastic sound that is almost otherworldly.
It can create various effects depending on how it’s used.

Incidentally, most of the reverbs produced as effects pedals today are "digital reverbs" that reproduce reverberation through arithmetic processing, and the hall reverb,room reverb, and shimmer reverb introduced here are all digital reverbs.

After a brief explanation of reverbs, let's take a look at some recommended reverb effects pedals!
