Hardcore Techno Day 2026 for Club Music Lovers! - M-Project

These days, I’m even starting to wonder if I need to think of an introduction at all.
This blog, which has gradually gained recognition in the scene, is now on its 8th entry. As I’ve mentioned before, August 5th is Hardcore Techno Day. It is a legitimate anniversary officially recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association.

This year, THE DAY OF HARDCORE features LEVIATHAN!!

Continuing as a day event with free admission. The tradition of distributing THE DAY OF HARDCORE VOL.17 for free to the first 300 guests also remains.
I noticed there seem to be more Live PAs this year than usual... The second floor is named GABBERDELIO FLOOR, perhaps matching the guest, and it looks like we can enjoy a darker atmosphere than usual.

THE DAY OF HARDCORE 2026 #TDOH2026

I just realized that I haven’t done a detailed feature on M-Project, the organizer leading TDOH, until now...
So this time, I want to feature M-Project, who leads the Japanese HARDCORE TECHNO scene!

About M-Project

Activity started in 2000.
After releases from various Japanese and international parties and labels, they are currently active primarily through Kutski’s Keeping The Rave Alive, the UK bassline label Off Me Nut Records, and the veteran Dutch hardcore label Mokum Records.
Focusing on UK Hardcore, Early Hardcore, and Bounce, they continue to produce tracks with an emphasis on the rave sound.

Needless to say, I am well aware of M-Project’s activities, and I briefly mentioned them in the “HARDCORE TECHNO from JAPAN”
So, the first one to introduce is this one!

PSYQUI - Your Voice So... (M-Project Remix) feat. Such

The original song is a massive anthem by PSYQUI that I’ve introduced before. This remix keeps the refreshing synth lead and vocal chops while making the bass drop even more brutal. When I first heard it, I thought my brain would fry at the point where it transitions into a main drop similar to the original without losing any of the momentum from the first half.
The album it’s included in, Rave Expedition, is a masterpiece containing 12 tracks, including collaborations with domestic and international artists, and it’s guaranteed to get you hyped.
It’s a personal favorite that I still listen to regularly, so I picked it as the first track to introduce!

M-Project & Mättö Mättö Män - Body Moving

While M-Project is known for his characteristic mask, there is also a masked DJ in Finland! That is the collaboration partner, Mättö Mättö Män. He energetically produces tracks in genres like HAPPY HARDCORE and J-CORE, but his true identity is unknown. His music is also great, so please give it a listen!
This track is more Hard Dance than HARDCORE TECHNO, but that doesn’t matter! I selected it simply because it’s cool and I really wanted to share it.
From the intro, nostalgic high-frequency pianos and pitched-up vocal samples flow in, making you think a classic UK HARDCORE TECHNO track is starting, but then it takes a turn. A sharp bass drop begins, instantly pulling you into the song. The skill in making you want to hear more is truly wonderful.

M-Project & MUZIK SERVANT - Turn Up The Bass

A collaboration track with MUZIK SERVANT, a composer who works on everything from HARDCORE TECHNO to music games and idol songs.
With a very simple structure and a sound reminiscent of HAPPY HARDCORE, it’s perfect for playing at a club. I personally fell in love with it the moment I heard it and added it to my playlist immediately!
As with all of M-Project’s tracks, the kick is super thick and amazing. As expected of someone who joined Lethal Theory...
So, here is the next one.

S3RL vs M-Project Feat. Krystal - Heart Attack

M-Project became the first Japanese artist to join the UK HARDCORE TECHNO label Lethal Theory. Their landmark label debut album is Detonated. Among the tracks, this is a must-listen for any S3RL freak.
When M-Project's heavy, thick kick meets a S3RL-style synth riff, it's simply the best! I wonder how they mix it to achieve such thickness without sounding muddy... Truly impressive.
By the way, as mentioned above, Detonated features a lineup of other world-famous HAPPY HARDCORE artists. Only M-Project could gather such an illustrious group of members like Scott Brown, Daniel Seven, and Al Storm.

Relect & M-Project - Nothing Makes Sense

The last one to introduce is a track by Relect, a fellow Japanese member of Lethal Theory, teaming up with M-Project.
Relect is an artist who primarily produces Drum & Bass and HARDCORE TECHNO. He specializes in tight, solid sounds, which pair perfectly with the M-Project sound! It’s a track where refreshing vocal samples shine over UK HARDCORE-style lead synths and riffs.

Good music deserves a good environment.

Once again, I’d like to introduce a recommended audio interface!

Platane / UP2 USB Audio Interface

A 2in/2out audio interface from Platane, for which Sound House serves as the distributor in Japan. As you can see, it has a solid design with absolutely no physical knobs! For those wondering how to adjust the volume, you can use the software mixer to configure not just inputs, but also speaker outs, headphone outs, and routing settings.
Yes, routing is possible!

By connecting a PC and a mobile device simultaneously, you can send IN/OUT to each device (if only a mobile device is connected, the UP series operates as a headphone amplifier and recording functions cannot be used).
The DAC section uses the AK4493SEQ from AKM. It achieves an amazing S/N ratio of over 123 dB (A-weighted) at the line output section, all within a minimal design of 130 x 76 mm.
Virtual channels are also set up beyond the physical number of inputs and outputs, so it can be used as a virtual stereo mixer for streaming. Its small size makes it ideal for production work on the go. For those who want an even more compact production environment, the UP1, which also removes the speaker out, is recommended. Although it only has 1 channel for INPUT, it excels in space-saving music production and recording environments!
