About the Recommended Moving Head Pocket Pro

Hello everyone. The typhoon has passed, and the season is gradually shifting from summer to autumn. Speaking of autumn, it's the season of appetite! It's the time to enjoy seasonal delights like sweet potatoes, chestnuts, and persimmons. This time of year always reminds me of dried persimmons. 01. About the Moving Head Spot Type

As explained in my previous blog, moving heads primarily come in beam, wash, spot, and hybrid types. The VIZI BEAM RXONE introduced last time was a beam type, while the Pocket Pro I’m introducing this time is a spot type. It features sharp edges of light and can project gobos (patterns). Yes, gobos! The standout feature of this product is the gobo functionality.

02. Gobos

The compact-sized Pocket Pro, which is easy to use, is equipped with separate color and gobo wheels, and the gobos can be easily exchanged. As shown in the image below, the head can be removed effortlessly.

Removing the head allows you to take out the gobo.

Additionally, the product itself comes equipped with a 0.3mm thick gobo wheel featuring 7 types plus an open metal gobo, so there is no need to create additional gobos.

03. About the Color Wheel

The color wheel features 7 colors plus white for adjustment.

04. About DMX

Moving heads are typically controlled by DMX-compatible controllers. For lighting fixtures like moving heads that use multiple channels, it’s best to choose a DMX controller designed for effects. The Pocket Pro uses 11 or 13 channels, so if you're using a DMX controller, make sure to select one that has at least 11 channels.

■ About DMX512
DMX512 is a digital signal communication standard developed and revised by the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT). It allows for the transmission of lighting control data for up to 512 channels over a single digital cable, and each channel's signal can be controlled in 256 levels.
