Recently, I've introduced various cases we carry at Sound House. If you haven't seen them yet or are curious about them, check out the following blog posts.

This time, I thought I would focus on a large case among such cases from the introduction blogs. The key products are mentioned in the title, but I will thoroughly go through the following products.
As you can see from what I have introduced so far, SKB has developed a wide range of cases for musical instruments and audio equipment, as well as fishing tackle and guns, and their greatest feature is that they are all extremely tough and durable.
The case I am introducing this time, the X2915-14, is not a specialized case for anything, but it is a very large product among the general-use cases we handle at Sound House. So let's take a look at it right away.

Let's start with the exterior. The sturdiness can be felt from its appearance. This is what SKB is all about. Of course, the durability of the solid resin case can be felt when touching it. There are two catch locks on the front. I'll touch on the details later, but let's open the case right away.

I thought it would lift lightly when I opened the catch lock, but that is indeed a solid structure. The lid is actually a little heavy. Here's how it feels when you push the lid up with a bit of force.

Anyway, it looks like it can hold a lot of things! So, let's measure the internal dimensions.

Let's start with the width. It's about 72 cm wide. Including the sash part, which seems to be the same as the manufacturer's published value (73.66 cm).

Next is the depth. It varies a little depending on where you measure it because there is a protrusion inside the case, but it’s about 37 cm. The manufacturer's published value (38.10cm) is a little larger here too, but if you include the sash part, it's about the same.

Next is the internal height (depth). This also varies a little depending on where you measure it due to the shape of the bottom, but it’s about 30 cm including the sash, measured from the lowest part.

I also measured the clearance part of the lid. This also depends on where you measure, but the maximum is about 9 cm including the sash.

Some people may have wondered whether the lid is fixed with the lid halfway open or not. As for here, when I tried it, if I opened it to the angle (30-40 degrees) of about the above picture roughly, the lid did not close on its own weight. However, if you open it at a lower angle than this, it will indeed close under its own weight. The lid can only be opened to a maximum of 90 degrees because of the metal fittings on the left and right sides. Now, let's take a look at the details of each part.

This is the catch lock part. It is designed to be fixed by hooking it onto the sash part of the lid. I have opened and closed it several times and it’s not only sturdy but also works smoothly. There is also a mechanism for attaching a lock when the catch lock is closed.

Handle part attached to the side of the case. There is one on each side of the case. They are also solidly made so that it can be lifted even when heavy items are placed in it.

Finally, the bottom. Wheels can be attached to the four corners of the case. However, wheels are not included as standard, so if you need them separately, you will have to purchase them.
Now that I've introduced them, how did you like them? It's not often that I get the chance to actually touch and review a large case of this level, so it was rather fun for me as the author. The X2915-14 is a case that can be used in many different situations because it doesn't have a specific purpose. As a side note, when I sat on the case with it closed, it didn't even move, so it might be a good idea to take it camping and use it as a chair and as a storage case for camping gear. Of course, it is also good for carrying a set of cables and equipment at events and gigs. It would also be cool to use it as a gun case for airsoft. The X2915-14 can be used in a variety of situations. It is highly recommended for those who are looking for a tough, large case.
