A New Blue Rack Case from CLASSIC PRO Has Arrived! Thorough Review

As someone who handles rack cases on a daily basis and interacts with customers, I often receive requests for blue rack cases. You can find them from other case manufacturers, but when I thought about it, our in-house brand (CLASSIC PRO) didn’t offer one. Thanks to a variety of good timing and opportunities… a blue rack case has finally been added to the lineup of our standard rack case series, the “CPR Series”! So this time, I would like to actually try it myself and give a hands-on review. With that, let’s get started↓

CLASSIC PRO / CPR2UE BLUE 2U Rack Case Blue

This time, the item I’m reviewing is this one: the 2U size with a depth of 36 cm, “CPR2UE BLUE.”
First, let’s open it up and take a look at the overall appearance.

Shown standing upright with the handle on top. The side that becomes the bottom when placed flat is properly equipped with rubber feet. The first impression is that the blue is more vivid and beautiful than expected. For those who usually see only black rack cases, it feels very fresh.

Next is the handle part. The specifications are the same as the black models in the existing lineup, but since the handle extends, it offers a good grip. Including the catch lock, it has a sturdy and solid construction.

Now, let’s open the catch lock and check the inside. The interior is black, just like the standard model. The metal fittings and corner construction are solid. Rails are included as standard for both the front and rear. By the way, when you open the lid, the included rack screws are secured to the rails. You can use these screws when installing equipment. There are 4 screws per 1U, so 8 screws are included.

Let’s look at the detailed dimensions. This is a question I sometimes get: in the CPR series rack cases, the rails are installed slightly lower than the sash section. By the way, the depth of the CPR2UE BLUE I was reviewing is 36 cm, but this measurement is from edge to edge of the case (sash to sash) with the front and rear panels removed. When installing equipment, you need to account for the rail drop. As you can see in the image, the rails drop about 2 cm on each side, totaling 4 cm front to back. Therefore, the usable depth between rails is 36 cm − 4 cm = 32 cm.

Next, let’s check the internal depth (clearance) of the lid. It’s approximately 6 cm, so even if the equipment slightly protrudes front or back, the lid can still close as long as it fits within this clearance.

While we’re at it, let’s look at some more precise measurements. With the handle facing up, the rubber feet on the bottom measure about 2.5 cm.

Next, when the case is laid flat, the rubber feet on the bottom measure approximately 1 cm in height.

So, what do you think? Apart from the color, the parts and dimensions are the same as the previous CPR series, but it’s helpful to review them again. That said, the different color feels refreshing, making you think about what equipment to put inside… it really sparks ideas. By the way, the blue rack cases introduced here are now available in the CPR series in 1U–3U sizes.
