Many of you may have already seen these cases on the website, but did you know that Sound House also sells tackle boxes? So this time, I would like to take a deep-dive into the tackle box, and I picked up this one.
SKB / 2SKB-7200 Fishing Tackle Box
This one looks so sturdy and strong!
This case looks so sturdy and solidly built that it looks like it can take quite a beating without breaking. I choose you!
I unboxed it from a securely packed cardboard box and then placed it on my desk. Just by touching its exterior, I can feel how much of a tank this is...

This tackle box has a massive presence...!
The 2SKB-7200 is made with a plastic case that has two pockets on the left and right sides, plus what appears to be four rod holders in every corner of the box. I will talk more about this later, but first let’s open it up.

There is a sturdy catch lock on the front of the lid. It’s securely closed.

I looked at it closely to find a mechanism that allows for a padlock. When the box is not in use, the box can be locked for thorough protection.

Here is a picture of the box with the lid open. It’s hard to see because of the reflection, but there is a clear panel inside of the lid that provides storage for small items.

The clear panel looks like this after opening it. It looks like it can hold a lot.

By the way, the box comes with a shoulder strap that attaches to the box inside the clear panel.

Here is the upper part of the box with the lid open. It is carpeted and it feels so nice and soft to the touch.

Oh, what is this? Maybe it comes off.

It did! This was a space for storing jigs and lures. It’s designed for hanging them in the hole while in storage. There are a lot of holes, which is nice.

Next, let’s move onto the lower space. Open the door at the front and...

There are four clear storage cases inside! The hanging jig/lure area and this space should be large enough to store a lot of fishing gear.

I took out one of the storage cases. There are four spaces divided horizontally. The dividers inside can be taken out for when you want to rearrange items for storage. This is a useful feature.

Now let’s check the internal dimensions of this storage case. The width is about 34cm and the depth is about 21cm. The middle part protrudes out in the front, so the depth is about 19cm.

Also, there are numbers written on the top of this storage case, but they probably are in inches. If you put a lure or a worm here, you can tell the length at a glance. This will come in handy.

I wondered what this black round thing next to the storage case was, but it appears to be a hole where the metal fitting on the lid enters and fixes to the lid when closed.

In the lower right corner of the front side, there is a square hole, which is just below the hanging jig/lure area. When you accidentally drop a jig from the hanging area, you can pick it up from here.
That’s all for the inside of the box. Now, let’s take a look at the side of the box.

This is a secure side pocket. I thought it was small when I looked at it from the outside, but when I stick my hand in, it looks big enough to hold a lot of stuff. By the way, this pocket is attached to both sides of the box.

The rod holder that I mentioned at the beginning is attached to all four corners.

Grip handles on both sides of the box are a big help when carrying the box securely without straps. These handles are easy to hold firmly, which feels great.

Lastly, I found rubber feet on the bottom side of the case. These rubber feet allow the box to stably sit even if it’s placed directly on the ground or it becomes heavy with a lot of stuff inside.

I had no fishing gear to try this out, so I placed several tools in it to see how it would look. This tackle box might be great as a tool box, too.

A simple instruction manual is included in the box. Personally, I am somewhat excited to see more examples of usage that are shown in this manual.
This time, I took a thorough look at the 2SKB-7200 tackle box from SKB and I hope you liked it. In fact, looking at this tackle box reminded me of when I used to go fishing. When the weather gets a little warmer, I think I’ll take my fishing gear that I haven’t touched in a while and go sea fishing.
SKB has a lot more tackle boxes from their brand, so if you are interested, please check them out.↓
