DASLIGHT / DVC4 How To Part 11 - DVC4 GOLD USB Interface

1.Introduction

This is Part 11 "DASLIGHT / DVC4 HOW TO Course." This time, we will introduce the functions of the "DVC4 GOLD USB interface."

2.USB interface

The following three types of USB interfaces are indispensable when using Daslight4.

• Entry model "DVC4」 FUN "
• Standard model "DVC4 GOLD"
• High-end model "DVC4 GOLD ZM"

Connect the interface with a computer (Windows or Mac) with a USB cable, and control the LED par light and moving head with DMX. Control is performed using Daslight4 common software, but the functions that can be used are limited depending on the interface grade, and the total number of DMX channels that can be controlled differs.
* USB 2.0 or higher, Win / Mac 64bit compatible

3.DVC4 GOLD

Let's take a look at the standard model "DVC4 GOLD".

Live Mode can handle 2 universes (1,024 channels). It has XLR3 pin (male) and XLR3 pin (female) terminals. Male terminals are used as DMX input / output terminals.

Switching between input and output is done from "Preferences" of Daslight4.

You can switch to DMX output by selecting "Devices" and changing the I /O of Port 2 in "Connectivity" from Input to Output. Use the XLR (female) -XLR (female) conversion plug and connect the DMX cable.

* By clicking "+" in the Patch settings and adding Universe 2, Universe 3, etc., the universe can be selected.

In Stand Alone Mode, one universe (512 channels) can be handled. In the stand-alone mode, by saving scenes via USB to the built-in 128kB flash memory, it can be used for space events such as small events and show windows that do not require a personal computer. It also serves as a backup in the event of computer failure.

* 1 zone/page and 100 scenes
* By using the internal clock/calendar, it is possible to use, for example, "lights up every hour on every day of the week from 0 to 0".
* Stand-alone memory capacity depends on the number of channels. The more channels you use, the fewer steps you can use.

By using eight dry contact ports, you can trigger scenes in both Live Mode and Stand Alone Mode.

4.Conclusion

When in doubt about which DVC4 series model to purchase, the standard model DVC4 GOLD, which can use the functions of Daslight4 in full mode and can handle DMX signals of up to 1,024 channels, is optimal. It is recommended for use in a wide range of applications, from simple operations in show windows and bars to full-fledged lighting effects for live houses and so on, with simple operations.
