I had a chance to try Time Shadows and Silos, two hot new products just announced by Earthquaker Devices! Each of these pedals is very high quality and unique, and will expand the range of your creative mojo. Here is a summary of why these pedals were fantastic after playing around with them, and I hope you will find this article useful.
Time Shadows
This is a subharmonic multi-delay resonator. ust hearing the name makes me wonder what kind of effect pedal it is. For more detailed specifications, please refer to the product page or the manufacturer's website, but to put it simply, it is a modulation pedal with three types of delay-based guitar synthesizer-like sounds. Each mode is very unique and has a one-of-a-kind character, so I will summarize my impressions of each one.
EQD Mode
This mode produces a dark, heavy fuzz-like roaring modulation. It kind of reminds me of an organ and the dark sound is what makes it sound so good.I was able to adjust the sound more broadly and finely than I had ever imagined, with lower SPAN and TIME settings making it sound more like an octave bar, and higher settings that make a majestic sound that dominates the field. It was a lot of fun to experiment with the different settings and find the kind of sound that I liked best!
DBA Mode
Compared to the EQD mode described earlier, this mode sounds more like your normal shimmer delay. I think it will fit in naturally with band performances and things of that nature, so I think it will be useful in a wide range of situations. I really liked the cold and beautiful modulation.
!¡ Mode
This mode is amazing (LOL). You should hear the actual sound, but it produces an eerie and mysterious repeat. If you set TIME to short and SPAN to long, it is just amazing (LOL). It is truly a one-of-a-kind effect that can only be created by this pedal. I think this mode is sure to trigger new creations.

Silos
This is a delay pedal with three modes: digital delay, analog delay, and tape delay. Each can be adjusted up to a maximum of 1 second of delay time. What is unique about each mode is that by adjusting the TIME knob, the delay sound changes in a sizzling manner. The sound changes dynamically in real time to the knob adjustment, and I felt that this could be utilized in various ways for on-stage performances.
As with the Time Shadows introduced earlier, six presets can be saved. It also has a footswitch for tap tempo. In any case, all modes were of high quality, and the sound is powerful enough to reassure me that they can be useful anywhere. No matter how you set up this delay pedal, it has a beautiful sound and it's one of those units that you can't stop playing around with! Let me summarize my impressions after trying out each mode.
Digital Delay Mode
This is a clear delay sound. This is the stable sound of a digital delay. It produces satisfying effects for all kinds of situations, from light, subtle settings to deep ambient sounds.
Analog Delay Mode
Compared to the digital mode, it still produces a warm delay sound. I felt that the original sound remains firmly warm. I feel that with this turned on, I can play with peace of mind (LOL). Also, as with the tape mode I’m introducing next, if REPEATS is set to a higher value, it will self-oscillate.
Deep Deley Mode
Although it has a character similar to that of the analog mode, I felt that this one has a more circular delay sound. It is possible to create a mellow and thick modulation, and when set to be more intense, you can enjoy a very expansive delay!
