Drumsticks are essential for playing the drums and should be stored in drumstick cases with care. Drumstick cases are not only convenient because they can not only store sticks, but they can also hold small items such as tuning keys and sheet music. Spare sticks can also be ready ready to go by hooking the stick case to a floor tom. In this issue, I’m going to introduce some of my recommended stick cases.
How to Choose a Stick Case
How many sets of sticks will you store?
The size of the case depends on how many sets of sticks it can hold.
If you want to keep your luggage small and light, choose a smaller case. If you use brushes and mallets in addition to sticks, you should choose a larger case. Some are long and narrow, while others are large enough to fit in a backpack, so think carefully about how many sticks you will be using and choose the right one.
Do you have anything else to store besides sticks?
If you’re looking to put your tuning keys, sheet music, cell phone, and wallet inside your case in addition to your sticks, I recommend a type of case with lots of storage space. In fact, I personally like to head to the studio with as little luggage as possible, so I go to the studio empty-handed with everything I need in a larger case!
If there is storage inside, you can neatly categorize your items and carry them with you.
Choose a case based on your favorite design and material
Stick cases are often associated with black, but in reality, there are many colorful options available. Additionally, there are cases with patterns that can help you stand out with your unique style.
Regarding materials, you can find options such as nylon, canvas, and leather, so you have a lot of choices to choose from!
Considering these aspects, let's choose a stick case that suits you!
Recommended Stick Cases
This stick case is a simple nylon fabric design capable of holding 5 to 6 pairs of sticks. It has a minimalist design that doesn’t have a lot of features except for a strap that attaches to a floor tom, and it comes at an affordable price of 580 yen.
It's recommended not only for studio use but also for those who need a convenient storage solution for sticks at home. It's compact and doesn't take up too much space, making it very handy and I find it quite useful myself!"
Promark / Marching Drumstick Bag - 1 PR
Designed for one pair, suitable for marching snare drums and tenors. Constructed from highly durable ballistic nylon with excellent water resistance, emphasizing its exceptional durability. Additionally, its smooth interior allows for quick and easy stick changes, which is another appreciated feature.
Protection Racket / 3 Pairs Stick Bag
This case from Protection Racket can store up to 3 pairs of sticks.
There’s also a clear inside pocket so you can easily see what's stored where.
Of course, the familiar PRO mark from Protection Racket looks great! It comes in vivid colors that really stand out, making it a stylish looking design. This case offers both excellent storage capacity and a stylish appearance.
In addition to the main stick storage, this bag features side pockets that allow for organizing different types of sticks, such as mallets, brushes, and regular sticks. It's also known for its versatility in carrying essentials like phones, tablets, wallets, and even drinks! With this case, you can go anywhere with everything you need.

Furthermore, there are 4 different setup options for attaching it to a floor tom. I encourage you to explore and find the setup that fits your style best with this case.
TAMA / Powerpad Stick & Mallet Bag PBS50
This case can store approximately 20 pairs of sticks and mallets. Internally divided into 5 compartments with dividers, it accommodates various accessories as well. What sets this case apart from other cases is the outer pocket that is capable of holding A4-sized sheet music. It's quite convenient not needing a separate bag for sheet music alongside your stick case!
As you can see in the fourth photo, when fully opened, it offers a significantly large area. This allows for neat and organized storage without clutter.
This time, I introduced various types of stick cases. Each one has different designs and storage spaces, so try to find the stick case that suits you best.
