The "Fluff Drive," released by WARM AUDIO, is the company's first signature model.

This is an overdrive pedal tuned for modern high-gain players, equipped with features such as Low Boost, Mid Enhance, a noise gate, and voltage boost.

I get the impression that many existing demos and reviews focus primarily on high-gain sounds, but this time, I deliberately used a single-coil Stratocaster and focused on the sound quality in the low-gain range during my trial.

Trial Environment

• Guitar: Fender Stratocaster
• Amp: Mesa Boogie Studio .22 (CLEAN ch)
• Mic: SENNHEISER MD 421-II
• Audio Interface: RME Babyface Pro FS
• DAW: Logic Pro

Trial Content

In this recording, I tested it along two axes: low-gain and high-gain.

Low-gain setting (Gain at 9 o'clock)
Mid Enhance was generally set between 11 o'clock and 2 o'clock.
Voltage boost was used with it always ON.

Sound Impression

The first thing I felt was the high basic sound quality when switched ON/OFF.
The grain of the distortion is at an exquisite balance of "not too delicate, not too rough," and I can sense the intention to allow the fineness to be adjusted via the Mid Enhance setting.
If set to PRE, the image is that the distortion becomes finer.
Generally, in the low-gain realm, a combination of a Tube Screamer-style and a Klon-style pedal is standard, but this unit can handle those roles with its Mid Enhance function.
I think the potential from the choice of whether to place the TS before or after on a pedalboard could be solved by just this one unit.

The behavior of the Mid Enhance is not that of a simple tone control, but rather a control that varies the surrounding frequencies around a specific axis. To put it in terms of an image—and without fear of being misunderstood—it has a nuance similar to the Filter on a Pro Co RAT, but it engages more actively in sound creation.

• PRE: Works on the clipping stage of the distortion → The grain becomes finer.
• POST: Works on the final stage → Adjusts the "cut" (presence in the mix) like a clean booster.

It is designed so that you can choose with a single switch whether to control the way it distorts or to control its presence in a band mix.

With high-gain settings, you get a juicy, rich, and highly responsive distortion. It has excellent phrase tracking, and it feels natural to play, making me feel like I could play any phrase.
Including the Low B and Gate features, the optimization for modern metal sounds is functioning very well.

In summary, the sound quality is consistently high from low-gain to high-gain, and the design of the Mid Enhance, in particular, is quite excellent. The freedom of sound creation, the practical presence in a mix, and the comfortable playing feel—these three points are all achieved at a high level. Including its appearance, it is highly polished, and it is simply a pedal that makes me think, "I want this."
