Universal Audio’s UAFX series has been gaining support from a wide range of players around the world for its high quality sound. This time, I would like to share with you my impressions of the modulation pedal "ASTRA" from the series! I hope it will be of help to those who are thinking of purchasing one!

The design is also very nice!

Stereo output is also available!
First of all, the sound is still very good! It's just like you would expect from Universal Audio. I would say that it has a glossy sound, and I was able to enjoy a very pleasant sound when playing it. No matter how I turned the knobs, it produced a good sound, so I felt like I could touch it endlessly. lol
There are a total of five types of modulation in this unit: the three that come from the factory, and two that can be obtained by registering the pedal on the UAFX web page. Each effect can be switched between Variation A and B, so you can actually enjoy 10 different types of modulation. In this blog, I will introduce each of the three types that come from the factory, along with a review of each!
■ Chorus Brigade
This sound is modeled after the legendary BOSS CE-1 chorus pedal. "A" can control speed and depth with a single knob, and "B" can control speed and depth with separate knobs. I liked it best when it was set shallow and used as a fresh, sparkling chorus!
■ Flanger Dblr
This sound seems to have been created using MXR's Flanger/Doubler as a motif. A is the flanger mode and B is the doubler mode. It was much fun to set the effects deeply in doubler mode and create some pretty intense sounds, like 'piropiro' and 'kerokero'.
■ Trem 65
This effect is a simulation of the optical tremolo circuit used in Fender amps of the 60s. This one has a waveform that can be changed by switching between A and B. Personally, this tremolo was my favorite sound among the three modulations! It can be adjusted widely from a shallow, refreshing tremolo to a firm, deeply applied tremolo, and no matter how you set it, it produces an elegant and pleasing sound. lol
When I set it to a slow, deep tremolo and played arpeggios at random, the time passed quickly, and the sound made me want to keep playing the notes all the time!
That's all! This is a brief but comprehensive summary of my impressions of the actual use of this product. In addition to this ASTRA, there are many other high-quality pedals in the UAFX series lineup! I am sure you will find many models you want. Please check them out!
