Violin stands are useful for displaying violins in a room or for holding a violin for a short while while practicing. In fact, there are various types of stands, such as foldable types and types that can be used to hang a bow on. The staff in charge of stringed instruments recommends the following violin stands!
Things to Keep in Mind Before Buying a Stand
Before choosing a violin stand, one thing to keep in mind is to make sure that the stand will not affect the paint on your instrument. Violins can be roughly divided into two types of paint: varnish, such as handmade, and lacquer or poly-based paint, which is often found on mass-produced instruments. Among these, varnished violins require special care when using a stand.
The part of the stand that touches the instrument is generally made of urethane or rubber, which can affect the varnish on the violin. In the worst case scenario, the varnish may melt or stick to the stand. Therefore, when placing a varnished violin on a stand, it is recommended that a cloth be placed between the areas where the instrument touches the stand. To be a little more precise, I can say that older varnished instruments that are completely cured are less likely to be affected, but newer varnished instruments, or ones that have been made only one or two years ago, are more likely to be affected.
The PLAYTECH violins at Sound House have a poly coating, so it is unlikely to affect them. You should be able to use a violin stand without any problem!

Now that you have confirmed the type of paint on your instrument, let me introduce you to our recommended violin stands!
