As the title suggests! We will answer questions seen on social media and online! This time, it's the Fuji Rock edition.
-
Honestly, how much does it cost?
-
The costs can vary greatly depending on factors such as ticket price, transportation, accommodation, food and drink, merchandise, and souvenirs. Variables include the region you're traveling from, the mode of transportation, whether you camp or stay in a hotel, and whether you drink alcohol. For a full three-day participation with camping from the Kanto region, the rough estimate is around 100,000 to 150,000 yen per person. If staying in a hotel, add an additional 30,000 to 50,000 yen. For a single day trip, it might cost around 40,000 to 50,000 yen. Additionally, purchasing necessary items beforehand also adds to the cost.
-
How can I save on accommodation costs?
-
Camping is the way to go. For full participation, it's 5,000 yen. While buying camping gear from scratch can cost tens of thousands of yen initially, the equipment can be used for several years. Plus, you can use it for regular camping trips as well.
-
Can I cook my own food?
-
It's possible in certain areas of the campsite (BBQ areas) and the Moon Caravan (auto campsite). However, since the festival offers a wide variety of delicious food, you'll definitely want to enjoy that as well.
-
Can I drink something other than beer?
-
Absolutely! Niigata is famous for its sake, and local breweries set up stalls where you can enjoy delicious local sake. You might even come across some rare varieties. There are also places offering tasty mojitos and several bars, so you have plenty of options to choose from.
-
Are there bugs?
-
Yes, since it's in the mountains, there are bugs, but there's no need to worry too much. With proper bug repellent measures, you'll be fine. Avoid going into bushes as well. In the past, I've been bitten by horseflies and some mysterious round bugs, but never by mosquitoes. Also, I've never seen snakes inside the venue.
-
What should I do if the acts I want to see overlap?
-
While it would be ideal to split yourself in two, you can't, so you'll need to decide based on your mood on the day. If there's even a slight time difference, you can watch a few songs from the act that starts earlier and then quickly move to the other stage. However, be aware that some stages may have entry restrictions if they become too crowded, so you might need to move in advance to ensure you get in.
-
I heard that the stages at Fuji Rock are far apart. Is that true?
-
Yes, they are quite far apart. However, this allows you to focus on each stage individually, so it's actually a good thing. If you don't exercise much normally, it might be a good idea to get some activity in beforehand.
-
Is it okay to go alone?
-
Absolutely, no doubt about it!
-
I don't want to be seen as a loner.
-
Don't worry, you'll see plenty of solo attendees at the venue. It's actually quite convenient since you don't have to match anyone else's schedule.
Let me just say this: three days surrounded by nature, music, and delicious drinks are priceless!!!
That's all.
