Their guns could be the most precious thing to them next to their own lives...

Most of you may be wondering what on earth I am talking about, but in fact, we currently sell gun cases at Sound House. When Sound House first started selling them, it went a bit viral on social media. I decided to write a blog article focusing on gun cases, and I picked one which caught my attention. This is it.↓

SKB / 3i-2015-10B-M Eight Handgun Case for Survival Games

The handgun is a basic weapon for survival games, so I’m going to thoroughly look at this 3i-2015-10B-M case for handguns.
Here it is unboxed on my desk!

This one is made of resin and it’s solid. Like this handgun case, all SKB cases are sturdy and reliable.

In the center, the front handle is equipped with a pressure relief valve to properly maintain the internal air pressure.

Now, let’s take a look at the most important part, the interior. Unlock the sturdy catch lock and open the lid. Here you can find space for storing 8 guns and 24 magazines. In the middle of the large storage section is an SKB booklet. I will focus on this booklet later, but now let’s take a closer look at the interior of the case.

This is the top lid. There is urethane foam on the lid as well as in the main storage area. The foam is firmly adhered to the case, making it unlikely to come off easily.

These pictures show the handgun space and the magazine space respectively. It may be hard to see, but the handgun compartment has a step in front to give a perfect fit to the gun grip. Now, let’s measure the dimensions.

Let’s start with the magazine space. The depth is roughly 10cm.

The width is about 2.4cm. The measuring tape couldn’t reach deep enough into the space, so I just measured it from the top and it was about 3.5cm.

Next, let’s take a look at the handgun compartment. The width is about 3.6cm and the length is about 24cm. The width is relatively narrow and the internal foam is made from a harder type of foam, so an automatic gun can fit in it without problem but the width might be a bit too narrow for a revolver gun.

The depth was difficult to measure, but the more shallow space in the front is about 6.3cm. The tens place on the measuring tape isn’t visible in the picture above, but the deeper compartment in the back is most likely around 12.5cm.

I thought I had all the dimensions measured out, but I found a mysterious compartment next to the gun slots. I had no idea what this space was for, but I measured it anyway.

The length and the width are about 10cm and 2.5cm respectively. The depth was about 6.3cm. This particular shape of the area makes it too narrow for a small accessories box, but a small transceiver could fit in there.

That’s it for the internal dimensions. Now, let’s look at the exterior and parts section.

There’s a mechanism that allows for a padlock on both the left and right sides of the case.

The catch lock is also sturdy. Once you close it, it will not open by itself.

There are two wheels on one side. So far, they move very smoothly without any problems when I touch the wheels.

Let’s take a look at the handle next. As you may have noticed in the previous picture, the pull handle is stored at the bottom on the left when viewed from the front. If you pull it out...

It looks like this. To pull out the handle, press the red button in the upper right corner to release the stopper.

By the way, I also measured the height. With the handle pulled out, it was about 94cm from the ground.

I (175cm tall) held the case and it felt just right. When I grabbed the handle to pull the case, I didn’t feel it rattling and it was stable.

The lid is designed to open up to about 90 degrees.

Now let me take a minute to talk about the booklet I mentioned earlier. It may be hard to see, but it has a table of dimensions for the SKB’s 3i series. This booklet will surely be useful when you need to look for not only a gun case but also as an equipment case.

Notice what’s going on at around 00:10 to 00:20. This is something that I absolutely would never do, but in the video, the case is being dragged around by a car on a muddy road, left in the heavy snow, and submerged into water… I feel a little sorry for this SKB case, but you can easily see that this strong case is sturdy and will not break even with the harsh beating it takes like it does in the video. Well done, SKB!
