Although there are many details to observe, I will first open the lid and check the interior.

Here’s what the inside looks like. A distinctive feature of SKB’s shock mounts is that the rack rails are not attached to the edges of the case but are instead fixed in a floating position. This is the secret to its superior shock resistance. The shock absorbers (dampers) located at the four corners supporting the rails reduce external vibrations. Impressive.

I measured the clearance between the rails and the inner sides of the case, and it was approximately 42mm. Even with equipment mounted inside, this much clearance on the sides, as well as above and below, improves internal ventilation, ensuring effective heat dissipation. Next, let’s look at the lid side.

The lid also exhibits a robust construction. The internal clearance of the lid, when measured, is about 65mm. This is ample space, even with equipment mounted. *Note that the interior shape of the lid is uneven, but the above measurement is taken from the deepest point.

After examining the case body and lid, let’s check the external components. It features sturdy spring-loaded catch locks and robust integrated handles on the sides. There are a total of eight rubber feet: four for horizontal placement and four for vertical placement, ensuring stability and security even with heavy equipment inside.
