To all the music programmers out there, thank you for your patience. To make great music, you need great sound sources, right? That’s why today, I want to introduce you to the expansion packs for the all-powerful, all-creating synth plugin, Vengeance Sound’s Avenger.
By the way, in my previous posts, I used Avenger and its expansions to create a track. If you’re interested, check out the articles below first:

Now, Avenger has a ton of expansions released, and they’re all so amazing that it’s hard to choose which to showcase. After much deliberation, I’ve decided to introduce the following five expansions:
Vengeance Sound / Chillout Lounge 1 (Downloadable)
Vengeance Sound / Trance Three (Downloadable)
Vengeance Sound / Drum and Bass 1 (Downloadable)
Vengeance Sound / Funky House 2 (Downloadable)
Vengeance Sound / Happy Hardcore (Downloadable)

Incredible Atmosphere and Sound Quality
As the names suggest, I had high expectations, and upon listening, my first impression was that the spatial quality of the sound is simply incredible. The shimmer and ambience, essential for creating ambient or chillout music, are truly exceptional. Just playing the pre-programmed sequences and arpeggiators sparks tons of inspiration. Personally, I feel like these expansions pack in all the sounds I’ve been wanting in one place. I even tried creating a fitting phrase using just this expansion, so take a listen if you’d like. I highly recommend it for those who want sounds that evoke vivid scenes and stir creativity.

Cool Sounds, As Expected from a Trance-Focused Pack
First off, with a name like ‘Three’, it’s clear that there were previous releases, specifically ‘One’ and ‘Two’. The Trance Three is the latest in the series. I’ve actually used both One and Two (*check out the articles I added links at the beginning of this article for more on the Trance Two), and compared to the earlier expansions, Trance Three features more progressive sounds within the trance genre. The drum kits, bass lines, leads—everything is cool, and just playing around with the sounds will gradually satisfy your trance cravings. It goes without saying, but when the base sounds are this good, ideas flow, and productivity soars. So, here’s a quick example I put together using just this expansion↓

Yes, This Is Exactly the Sound I Wanted
Next up is the drum and bass-focused expansion. For those music programmers looking to create drum and bass tracks, I urge you to try this without any further explanation. My vocabulary might not do it justice, but the sounds really hit the spot. Listening to the patches, I kept thinking, “Yes, this is exactly what I needed!” The bass sounds are especially noteworthy—whether for heavy, gritty drum and bass or atmospheric liquid funk, this expansion will shine in a variety of settings. I planned to make just a demo, but it was so much fun that I ended up creating something more↓

Dancing Under a Shimmering Disco Ball
This is a pure disco sound. There aren’t many expansion packs that focus so specifically on funky house music, and just listening to these pulsating sounds makes me want to dance. What I found particularly amazing were the drum and sequence patterns. The seductive grooves and melodic bass intertwine beautifully, and the quality is just astounding. Funky house may have its roots in the past, but even now, its dazzling sound and vibe remain one of a kind. Above all, being able to immerse myself in the music and enjoy creating is truly a blessing. Here’s a phrase I put together late at night, grooving along↓

This Speed, It’s Unbeatable
Finally, we have this hardcore-focused expansion. In the best way possible, this is incredible. Just playing the fast-paced drum kits is enough to make you have a blast. Add in some arpeggios and thick leads, and boom—you’ve got hardcore. This expansion is packed with a variety of hardcore elements, so depending on how you use it, you can create tracks with different vibes. It could even work well for hardstyle. This was my first time trying an expansion that focuses on hardcore, and I found that it vastly expanded my compositional possibilities. Whether you’re a hardcore fan or someone who’s curious but hasn’t listened much, I highly recommend giving it a try. Here’s something I made—this was a lot of fun.
So, what did you think? I introduced some expansions that caught my eye, including a few demos. If you’re interested, definitely give them a try. And if the opportunity arises, maybe there will be a Part 2...! See you next time!
*The expansions mentioned here require the Vengeance Sound Avenger plugin.
