In this third installment, I will introduce the cables used in the integration of the standard slatted Pedaltrain effects pedal board.

This time, a terminal called powerCON was used for the power supply section; it is a connector for power supply with a locking function that was developed by NEUTRIK using Spicon's technology. In fact, it is often used in lighting equipment.

The black connectors are from the TRUE OUTDOOR PROTECTION (TOP) series, which are UV resistant and IP65 waterproof, suitable for outdoor use, and can be plugged in and out even when the power is on. The blue and gray connectors are for indoor use that do not support live wire insertion and removal.

The NICHIFU 250 series plug-in connection terminals in TMEDV 630820-F blue were used for the fastening of NEUTRIK / NAC3MPX-TOP. With the Robtex AK112MA mini crimping tool, which is compatible with crimp terminals and insulation coating, the terminals can be properly crimped.

For wiring the NEUTRIK / NAC3FX-W-TOP, use a T8 size T-type Torx wrench to secure the cable.

Compared to IEC standard connectors, this one can be installed utilizing a smaller space, and the good thing is that it can lock the cable securely.

WAGO Japan's One-Touch Connectors were also used to tie the wires together. It is very easy to complete the wire connection by simply inserting the wires between the wires.

For the patch cable and DC cable, I used FREE THE TONE solderless plugs.

The cable kit from 3 Monkeys Solderless can be completed by simply screwing the cut cable to the plug. It seemed easy to use and was a good contender.

Cable testers play an active role in cable production. Among them, I recommend the dbx / CT-3 for checking the continuity of short cables such as patch cables or installed long cables since the transmitter and receiver units can be easily separated.
* When testing a TS phone cable with the terminal for TRS, insert it all the way to the end and then pull it back one step. When measured in the correct position, LEDs No. 1 and No. 3 will blink in turn.

If you connect the attached test stick, it functions as a conduction buzzer test mode, which notifies you with sound and light.

Although it is not possible to measure values such as current or voltage, a single CT-3 can be used to test the status of various cables such as XLR and RCA in an easy-to-understand manner.
When integrating an effects pedal board, a solderless cable kit can be used to create a clean wiring area, and kits are available from familiar brands such as BOSS and Ibanez. There are a wide variety of plug constructions and cable types, so it may be fun to find the one you like best.
