Extremely Useful Gibraltar Drum Hardware

Are you familiar with the drum accessory manufacturer called Gibraltar?

With over 35 years of history, Gibraltar is a globally recognized brand known for providing solidly built products at affordable prices. The company’s hardware, developed in collaboration with various brands, is designed to meet industry-standard specifications, ensuring compatibility with all drum and percussion brands, which has earned it high praise from players.

I recently had the chance to try out some Gibraltar products, and I’d like to share my experience with you.
This time, I used their hardware to set up a simple acoustic drum kit.

The hardware I used for this setup is:

Gibraltar / GSVMS-KIT

As you can see, this stand kit allows you to mount a tom, snare, and cymbal boom arm. But what makes it stand out is its exceptional usability! Let me walk you through its highlights:
First, it allows for the setup of a 14-inch snare drum with wood hoops! While it may seem obvious, this is a common concern for many drummers. Rest assured, this stand can easily mount snare drums with wood hoops.
Moreover, as shown in the image below, the ball clamp allows for flexible snare angle adjustments. I was particularly impressed by how smoothly the clamp tightens—it’s a real game-changer!

Next up is the tom clamp. Like the snare clamp, it also uses a ball clamp, allowing for free angle adjustments! The set includes two L-shaped rod balls with different rod diameters, ensuring compatibility with various bracket sizes.
Gibraltar’s attention to detail really shines here.

Now, let me introduce the cymbal boom arm mounting section.
As shown in the image below, it’s located behind the tom clamp in a standard setup.

For this setup, I mounted the following Gibraltar cymbal boom arm and attached a 16-inch crash cymbal. Since it uses a rack system, stability is top-notch. I also felt that it would work well for a low setup with a ride cymbal attached.

As shown in the image below, the size is revolutionary for a rack system. This sleek design is definitely appealing!

The central pole connects the snare stand and the tom stand, with both mounted via clamps, allowing you to adjust the distance between the snare and the tom.
I personally like to have my snare and tom set up close together, and this system made that easy to achieve.

As a side note, I used a Pearl hi-hat stand that I had at home for this setup.

However, Gibraltar also offers great hi-hat stands, and I highly recommend the following product. It’s compact, lightweight, and ideal for transport.
