Suddenly, I’d like to ask: what is important when choosing your guitar gear? There are various perspectives, such as sound quality and price. Of course, I also consider these points when selecting products.
However, no matter how rationally we try to choose, there are times when we encounter an irresistible charm that draws us in—something that’s all about design! Today, I’d like to talk about that aspect of design.

Guitarists utilize a wide range of gear. From the guitar itself to amps, effects pedals, straps, and picks, there’s a lot to choose from.
Don’t you think there are quite a few colorful options out there? While this diversity can be appealing, it often leads to a mismatched collection if you’re not careful! That can detract from the overall style.
So, I had an idea: what if we coordinated all our guitar gear in a single color? It could create a stylish and unique look!
In this article, I’d like to focus on orange guitar-related products available at Sound House. I’ll highlight a selection of items, including some that I’ve personally used and my impressions of them.

First, let’s talk about the essential piece: the guitar itself. Here are two affordable options from Fender’s Player Series that I’d like to introduce.

This is the classic Telecaster, truly embodying a vibrant orange!

When it comes to orange amps, this is the one that immediately comes to mind. The reason for unifying the color scheme in orange is that I really wanted to include this amp!

One great feature is the built-in chromatic tuner, which adds to its convenience!

This is a solid-state head amp that recreates Orange's flagship model, the Rockerverb.
Not only can you get the classic Orange sound at this price, but it also features a sparkling clean tone and clear reverb, showcasing the unique advantages of solid-state technology.

Effects Pedals

Effects pedals are essential for electric guitarists, and this category is filled with even more unique designs than the guitars themselves!

The OverDrive from the increasingly popular budget brand Effects Bakery is definitely making a name for itself in the pedal community.I also own this effects pedal, and it has certainly lived up to my expectations, delivering great sound.
The appeal of this pedal lies not only in its affordability but also in its adorable design, which initially drew me in.It’s no exaggeration to say that the design was the deciding factor in choosing this pedal over its competitors.
While it has a charming appearance, its sound is truly professional. It offers great versatility for various applications, but I often use it to enhance my clean tones. I set my clean amp’s volume to max and slightly roll off the tone, placing the Bagel OverDrive in the signal chain to achieve a sound that responds beautifully to my picking dynamics.

With its compact size, it’s a product you’ll definitely want to add to your pedalboard!

BOSS / DS-1 Distortion

Here’s another orange distortion pedal! Introduced as BOSS's first distortion unit, the DS-1 has been a beloved classic for over 40 years.
What’s truly remarkable is that this iconic pedal can be purchased for just 6,600 yen (as of March 2023)! With BOSS's reliability and an affordable price point, it’s a significant advantage!
There are also variations, such as the dual-mode DS-2 and the modernized DS-1X, which leverages contemporary digital technology for enhanced performance. All of these are excellent options to consider if you’re on the hunt for a distortion pedal!

Additionally, when it comes to orange effects pedals, this one is also quite familiar!

MXR / M101 Phase90

The phaser, famously used by Eddie Van Halen, has several variations, including the higher-end Phase 100 and the mini-sized Phase 95. Each model offers its own unique characteristics and sound, making them popular choices among guitarists.

Since I couldn't find any spatial effects pedals, let’s make use of the reverb from the amp instead!

Shield Cables

Shield cables are essential for playing electric guitar. While black is the most common color, you might be surprised by the variety available!

Canare / LC05 ORANGE

When it comes to shield cables, Canare is a classic choice! It offers a great balance of price and quality, earning high praise among musicians.
If you're unsure which one to choose, you can’t go wrong with this option!

Pick

Though they may be small items, picks have a significant impact on your sound. It’s definitely worth trying out different products to see how they affect your playing and tone!

Fender / 351 Dura-Tone .84 Butterscotch Blonde

This is a teardrop-shaped pick from Fender. There’s also a triangle (rice ball) shape available, so you can choose based on your preference.
Strictly speaking, it’s not orange but rather butterscotch blonde—though we can overlook that little detail!

Fender's picks offer a fun variety! I also use Fender picks, and this one makes me want to give it a try!

Straps

Straps are an important detail that some people change based on their outfit, making them a point of personal expression. Let’s take a look at designs that pair well with an orange guitar!

Renegade / RETRO STRIPE ORA-CR
