1. Essential Synth for New Sounds: DRIVE

True to its name, DRIVE offers a powerful selection of sounds, particularly suited to EDM and house music with its high-energy, rhythm-driven tones. One of the standout features across Usynth is the streamlined, user-friendly interface (UI). Each synth is primarily controlled by four large knobs for Sequencer, Synthesizer, and Finisher functions. Additional smaller knobs allow for more precise adjustments, but the layout remains refreshingly uncluttered. To give it a try, I crafted a short, upbeat track—perfect for anyone wanting to dive into trance sounds.
2. ’80s Synthwave: 2080

With 2080, you’ll be transported to the synthwave of the ’80s, drawing inspiration from the electronic music of the time and from the era’s movies, TV shows, and game soundtracks. Synthwave has recently surged back into popularity as modern creators breathe new life into these nostalgic tones. The sounds in 2080 capture the essence of classic synths with a cool, vibrant vibe. I couldn’t resist experimenting and ended up creating a fun, pop-inspired track.
3. Sweet and Rich Pad Sounds: CARAMEL

Featuring mystical, lush synth pads, CARAMEL provides a palette suited for everything from ambient to dance music. Personally, I’m drawn to ambient sounds, and CARAMEL’s presets are particularly soothing, often producing a mellow, harmonious tone simply by holding down a chord. These sounds have an almost therapeutic quality, and they’re versatile enough to work across genres. Here’s a taste of its soft, ethereal vibe.
4. Emotionally Rich EDM Sounds: EUPHORIA

EUPHORIA is exactly what you’d expect—packed with powerful, melodic lead sounds that scream EDM. This synth offers intense, energetic tones perfect for not only EDM but also hardcore and delicate minimal music. While working with these sounds, it’s hard not to get carried away, turning up the volume and getting lost in the rhythm. But fair warning: those around you might not share the vibe unless they’re similarly inclined! Here’s my clip capturing that EDM energy.
5. Versatile All-Around Synth: CORE

CORE is a multifaceted synth designed for a wide range of applications, covering bass, polyphonic tones, leads, arpeggios, and more. It’s equipped with sounds adaptable to various genres, and personally, I found its presets particularly fitting for techno and house music. While not an intense or flashy synth, CORE is the steady companion you can rely on—ready to inspire creativity whenever the moment strikes. Here’s a darker track I made with some of my favorite sounds from CORE.
6. Resonant Soul Vibes: DELUXE

DELUXE specializes in warm, soulful sounds that suit genres like R&B, hip-hop, and pop. It’s also a great match for lo-fi and 2-step genres, perfect for those looking to add a sophisticated, enchanting atmosphere to their music. For me, DELUXE is ideal for moments when I want to relax and let ideas flow—just pressing chords brings out a smooth, comforting vibe that often sparks a melody. Here’s a laid-back track I created to showcase its warm, soulful tones.
7. Pop-Powered GLAM

GLAM offers many pop-leaning tones, yet its sound style is reminiscent of 2080, making it a great fit for synthwave tracks as well. Its somewhat futuristic sounds are also well-suited for a range of techno music. It’s hard to put into words, but working with a soft synth like this, with its unmistakable synth character, makes me want to lose myself in sound design. There’s a desire to build a custom library of favorites and just indulge. I tried creating something here with a bit of a progressive house vibe.
8. Retro Game Adventure: PIXEL

PIXEL is a retro game sound generator co-developed by UJAM and David Wise, the composer behind the music of Donkey Kong. Just listening to the presets instantly brings back vivid memories of the video game music we grew up with. This one is a personal favorite among the plugins introduced here. It’s perfect for crafting chiptune tracks, and it could also be interesting to blend into today’s digital sounds. The more I experimented with it, the more fun it became—and, of course, I ended up creating a little something with it.
What did you think? From my experience with these plugins, I found each one to have its own distinct character, yet all share a high level of quality that makes them valuable for both professionals and amateurs alike. Above all, Usynth’s clean, simple UI makes it incredibly user-friendly, allowing you to jump into creating intuitively right after launch—arguably its best feature.
By the way, the sound demos I created were made using Usynth along with some light sound balancing in iZotope’s Ozone 11. Ozone 11 can significantly enhance track quality, so if you’re interested, check out the article below!

If any of these sound sources caught your interest, definitely consider adding them to your setup. UJAM has many other incredible plugins, but I’ll save those for another time.
Wishing you wonderful music programming!
