The long-established audio equipment manufacturer Shure has released a new vocal dynamic microphone series, the Nexadyne 8. In this article, I will introduce the charm of this microphone series along with my personal impressions of using it.
Features
The Nexadyne 8/C is a cardioid dynamic vocal microphone designed for professional vocalists in live performances. The Nexadyne 8/S is a super-cardioid dynamic vocal microphone also intended for live performances.
Equipped with Shure’s proprietary Revonic Dual Engine Technology (patented), it features two meticulously designed transducers that work together to deliver perfect audio performance. It captures clear and natural voice accurately, delivering authentic vocals throughout the venue. The Nexadyne 8/C, meeting Shure’s strict standards, excels in reliability, durability, and quality.
- Dual transducer audio signal processing achieves clear and faithful vocal sound just with minimal EQ.
- Shure’s industry-leading technology and reliable innovation.
- Dent-resistant hardened steel grill.
- Comes with a zipper case, mic holder, and a 3/8" to 5/8" thread adapter.
- Black-finished XLR connection.
What is Revonic Dual Engine Technology?
- Featuring two transducers connected electrically, it allows for additive and subtractive tuning, improving clarity while eliminating unwanted sounds such as handling noise and off-axis sounds.
- The acoustic signal processing provides excellent sound quality, eliminating the need for common corrective EQ by engineers, and capturing a clearer midrange of the source.
- The second engine almost completely eliminates handling noise.

I tried this out
The first thing I noticed was the lightweight of the microphone. Despite having two transducers and a robust appearance, I expected it to be heavier than the SM58, but it’s actually less than 300g, making it very friendly for vocalists. Both Nexadyne 8/C and Nexadyne 8/S deliver clear and well-defined sound with clean lows, making them suitable for use as overheads for drum recording as well.
Particularly, the Nexadyne 8/S has mid-oriented peaks without excessive highs, which I believe will attract more vocalists in the future compared to the BETA 58.

Nexadyne 8/C and 8/S differ not only in their polar patterns but also in ‘sensitivity’, ‘output impedance’, and ‘weight’. For live performances with a lot of movement, the 8/C is recommended, while for more grounded performances, the 8/S is suitable.
Even looking at the frequency response, the specs make you think it’s a condenser mic. In fact, the sound quality was comparable to the handheld condenser mic BETA87A. Handling noise was also negligible, making it a user-friendly mic for beginners, reliable in any setting.
If you already own a Shure dynamic mic, check the comparison table to see the differences.
Accessories
The Nexadyne 8 comes with a dedicated case and mic holder, making it convenient for transportation.
The case is sturdier than a mic pouch, providing peace of mind when carrying it around.

Conclusion
How was it? The Nexadyne 8 dynamic microphones feature Shure’s newly developed technology.
Shure continues to reign as a global standard microphone manufacturer, and their evolution shows no signs of stopping. I believe this mic perfectly meets the simple yet challenging goal of being “easy to handle and sounding great.”
The Nexadyne 8 Series is likely to be seen on many stages and definitely worth trying out.
