This time, we will introduce our recommended headset microphones. A headset microphone is a general term for microphones worn on the head. They are set so that the microphone is positioned near the mouth by placing them over the top of the head or around the ears.
The advantage of headset microphones is that they leave both hands free, making them ideal for performers, vocalists or chorus singers playing instruments (such as drums or guitars), speeches where gestures are important, and theatrical performances.
Microphones that can be used even when both hands are occupied include lavalier microphones (clip-on microphones) attached to the collar or chest. Compared to these, headset microphones are easier to position close to the mouth for better sound capture.
Incidentally, I am in charge of wireless microphones, but I am also a drummer. The first product I bought is shown below:
SHURE / SVX14/PGA31 Wireless Headset
When I bought it, I had no knowledge of wireless systems and made the decision based on my budget.
The included PGA31 has a unidirectional design, which means it picks up only my voice clearly. The gain is high, and it produces a much louder sound than the studio-standard SM58 used by my band members. I had to lower the fader on the mixer about two notches below the channel with the SM58 to get the right balance. It was hard to tell who the vocalist was. The sound is calm and natural, typical of analog systems.

As I mentioned earlier, I had no knowledge of wireless systems at the time and didn't consider factors like the number of simultaneously usable channels or the number of variable channels when making my purchase. Fortunately, no one else in my band was using wireless systems, so I was able to use it without any interference.
Now, let's move on to introducing our staff-recommended wireless headsets.
SHURE / BLX14J/SM35 Wireless Headset
SHURE / BLX series allows you to choose any of the 30 channels in the B band. You can fully adjust all 30 channels and use up to 6 simultaneously, allowing you to use six identical sets in the same space. Most importantly, the setup and operation are simple, and it also features an automatic channel scan function (QuickScan). The headset microphone, the SM35, is durable and suitable for high-movement performance applications. It has an 8dB higher sound pressure level than the previously introduced PGA31, making it ideal for vocals. It also has a wide dynamic range and faithfully reproduces subtle nuances. Recommended for vocalists, performers, speeches, and presentations while playing an instrument.
