Guitar/Bass Gears I Recently Bought and Liked

I am responsible for the bass category here at Sound House, but…
I recently fell in love with guitars.

“Traitor”, “You’ve abandoned the low end”, and “Thin strings”.
I can hear people saying things like these and I have no words to object to.
*Please note that I am not making fun of guitarists.

However!
Guitars are truly enjoyable.
I can’t stop this feeling anymore.
I’m going to review the gears I recently purchased, so please forgive me if it can be of some help to you.

First up is this one!!

Electro-Harmonix / Holy Grail Max

In my personal opinion, one of the main differences between guitar and bass is that “spatial sound effects are cool for guitars!” Reverbs are especially cool with that lingering sound. It makes me feel like I’m a professional musician and it’s just like a drug.

The Holy Grail Max offers four types of reverb, each with adjustable blend and time settings, and it produces a warm reverb tone. The Blend knob is excellent, allowing you to mix in the original guitar sound to prevent the effect from becoming too muddy.

My favorite is the Plate reverb, which I use with fuzz for solo phrases. It’s the best!

Electro-Harmonix / Sovtek Deluxe Big Muff

This is another one from Electro-Harmonix, and again, a guitar pedal. I apologize.

Well, I couldn’t resist! It’s the Big Muff! Moreover, this is one that not many people have!
This Big Muff delivers that unique Russian pressure and thump in the low end. The volume and other controls have a wide range, making it versatile for various scenes. I think it’s the ultimate form of the Russian Big Muff pedals.

And for the bassists! I tested this pedal with bass as well, and thanks to the blend of the original sound, it can be used without losing the low-end feel. When you turn on the mid switch, it boosts the output level by affecting the mid boost/cut on the control section. The ability to change the distortion character is a big plus. Since preferences for Big Muffs vary, if you’re looking for a Russian Big Muff pedal, give this one a try.

3 Monkeys Solderless / DC Solderless Pedalboard Kit

I bought this cable to enhance the slatted pedalboard I bought a year ago. I think it’s better for you to see the picture of it, so here it is.

Isn’t it pretty neat?
I think many people use solderless patch cables, but I highly recommend solderless DC cables too. The cables that come with power supplies are often too long or too short, so if you’re having trouble organizing your cables, I suggest trying these!

K.E.S / KIP-V.A.C.9

The last one is this! The much-talked-about #StrongPressure unit from a while ago.
The ability to set between 6.5V-18V steplessly and the full isolating are incredibly attractive, but what makes me happiest is the output.

Output:
Port1-6: DC9.4V 500mA
Port7-9: DC6.5V-18V 500mA

500mA on any port. It’s a godsend. As long as the consumption current of the pedal doesn’t exceed the maximum output, even digital effects pedals can basically be connected. I’m an analog effects lover, so it’s rare for me to exceed the maximum output, so it was an excellent purchase. It supports up to nine ports, yet the body is not too large, which is also very appealing.

Now...

I ran out of money (I mean, ‘my gear budget’).

Indeed, having a full set of gear and playing around with it cost a lot.
Next time, I’m planning to buy modulation effects and a board to create a pedalboard for my guitar.
