Nowadays, YouTube, Instagram, and various apps give us the platform for live streaming and it has become so common. I think many people may be thinking about doing live streaming themselves. This time, I’d like to show you my recommended USB microphones that will improve the quality of your streaming!
Contents
〇 AKG / LYRA
AKG / LYRA
I can’t talk about USB microphones without introducing this one. AKG has produced microphones for musical instruments and vocal recordings, so the high sound quality and functionality of their products are guaranteed.
The directivity of the mic can easily be adjusted according to purpose, and it can be widely used in different settings from band recordings with multiple instruments to talk shows where the mic only needs to pick up a person’s speaking voice.
If you want to try streaming in various settings but you don’t know which mic to buy, I recommend you to get the LYRA from AKG.
Please watch the video below to check out the size of the LYRA.
〇 BOYA / BY-PM500
BOYA / BY-PM500
From the hot brand BOYA, I picked up their latest BY-PM500. When I asked my colleague from our USB microphone team if she had some mics to recommend, I was introduced to this one.
I put the link to her review article when she used it herself, so if you’re interested, please take a look.
“I broadcasted a live stream with the USB microphone BY-PM500”
This microphone is very clear in what it can do and its operability. You can adjust the monitoring sound and the microphone input with the front knob, and the PATTERN switch can change the polar patterns.
The BY-PM500 is equipped with a USB-C jack that has become more commonplace in the market.
I have a MacBook Pro that only has USB-C ports, so it’s nice that BY-PM500 can be directly connected to a PC without a USB hub.
As for the sound quality, the voice is very clear. BY-PM500 will be useful not only for talking and game streaming, but it’s also great for online meetings. It can also be mounted onto a desk arm stand.

〇 Saramonic / SR-MV2000
Saramonic / SR-MV2000
Next one is the SR-MV2000 from Saramonic, a brand that makes high-quality microphones and audio interfaces for smartphones and cameras.
SR-MV2000 is equipped with an LED indicator that shows the volume level of the voice as well as high sound quality. It works very well in a live talk stream and the LED indicator looks so cool. Please check out the video to see how the indicator works.
The base of the included desktop stand has a magnet, so the mic stays firmly in place on your desk. You can set the angle of the microphone 360 degrees in any direction you like.
SR-MV2000 can also be connected to a smartphone with a USB-C jack, so it is recommended for those who live stream on a smartphone instead of a PC.
In addition, you can adjust the output audio and microphone input level of direct monitoring with different knobs to easily create the most comfortable streaming environment for yourself.
〇 SAMSON / Go Mic
SAMSON / Go Mic
This next one is the super small USB microphone from SAMSON, the Go Mic. As you can see in the picture, this microphone is only about 7 cm. Not only is it small and has high sound quality, but its directivity is also changeable. This versatile item can be used in various situations you can’t expect from its small body!
It can be directly mounted on a laptop as well as placed upright on your desk. It’s perfect for those who want to deliver good sound quality but don’t want to take up their desk space with a mic, or for those who are looking for a mic that is easy to carry around outside.
Fold it up, and it’s compact enough to carry around in your pocket. It’s convenient enough to put in a laptop bag with other gadgets for streaming.
〇 SAMSON / Q9U
SAMSON / Q9U
This is another one from SAMSON, the Q9U.This USB mic is well designed!
The Q9U supports XLR analog output as well as USB connection, and it also has a low-cut filter and a mid-boost switch, making it compatible with various setups not to mention podcasting and live streaming. Since it supports high-resolution recording at 24-bit/96kHz, it is useful for recording in music production.
Among the many USB microphones, the Q9U is particularly a high quality item that meets your needs. If you’re interested, please check the product page on the Sound House website for more details and reviews!
〇 CLASSIC PRO / CDM80U
CLASSIC PRO / CDM80U
The CDM80U is from our in-house brand CLASSIC PRO that is known for its great economical price. This is exactly how a “simple is best” mic would look. There are no complicated switches, and you can use it just by connecting it to your PC, so even if you suck at audio equipment, you will quickly learn how to use this mic.
As you can see in the video above, it’s compact and the neck is flexible. It can be said that there are no other microphones at around 1,000 yen that can match this quality.
That’s all for the featured selection of the USB microphones made by me, a member from the streaming equipment team at Sound House. The USB microphone does not require an audio interface and can be directly connected to a PC or smartphone, making it easy to use and helpful to improve the quality of your streaming. I still have many products that I couldn’t introduce this time, so if you’re interested, please check the USB microphone page at Sound House.
