When Tabuchi’s first signature model was released, it attracted a lot of attention. Now after 6 years, the new model Mk-II is out for sale. I would like to show you this model newly released from Seed!

The body color has changed from the previous chic black, to a bright red. It’s a nice red color, yet it has a calm tone that does not come across as too bright. Also, another nice point is you can see the wood grain.

The head design uses black and natural paint. It seems that the design was decided by Mr. Tabuchi’s proposal with the slogan “Design it with impact”.

The pickups are produced at overseas factories using original designs. By adopting the slanted pole pieces, the sound becomes thick and more powerful. A punchy sound Sago is known for can be achieved as well.

On the Sago models, 1 volume knob + 1 tone knob is the standard setup, but this Seed has 2 volume knobs + 1 tone knob, which is the same control setup as the Jazz Bass style. I heard that when Sago was consulting with Mr. Tabuchi, they decided that the tone variation should be more focused. However, some people might want to use the same 1 volume knob + 1 tone knob as Mr. Tabuchi. For these people, it seems that a circuit can be changed to the same specifications as Mr. Tabuchi’s will be released.

The selling point of these basses is that the body is made of alder, the neck is made of maple, and the fingerboard is made of rosewood. To keep the costs of making these instruments down, Sago uses the cost-effective option of artfully creating guitars with full-scale wood.

Although this model hasn’t been released yet, some stores have already maxed out their pre-orders. The Mk-II ispredicted to sell out quickly as soon as it's available in stores as well as online, so it's going to be extremely difficult to buy one of these in the future. Even with the previous model, we received many requests for the continuation despite the discontinued production.
There is still room for reservations at Sound House, but after the arrival of thisnext shipment, we are not sure when Sago will be able to produce more in the future. So, please consider pre-ordering your own bass as soon as possible!
