Introducing Some Cajón Accessories

As the summer approaches, you may be feeling the urge to play your musical instruments outdoors. The cajón is the perfect percussion instrument to play outdoors. This time, I’m going to introduce some musical instruments and items that go great with the cajón to expand the variety of performance.

MEINL / WJC1-M

The first instrument is jingle castanets that can be attached to your cajón. These wooden castanets have two steel jingles. Hit it to produce the sounds of the castanets and a jingle at the same time. It also comes with Velcro to easily attach a castanet on and off the cajón. Adding an accent to the rhythm part and as an effect is now convenient!

PEARL / PBCC-100

The next instrument is a cajón clave block. This also comes with Dual-Lock tape to easily attach to your cajón! It features a clear clicking sound that can be played like castanets and claves. The best part about this item is that it comes with an adapter as shown in the picture below. You can also mount the clave block onto the percussion stand using the percussion bracket (sold separately)!

SCHLAGWERK PERCUSSION / SR-HECK1

This compact cajón accessory can produce jingle and click sounds at the same time. Since it can be attached to either the left or right side of the cajón, you can put it in a spot that you like. The sustain length of the jingle is adjustable, so you can change the length of the sound according to the song. Its small size that can easily be carried is another great selling point. LP / LP1445

One of the downsides of playing the cajón will definitely cause a sore bottom. To remedy this, try this padded seat designed exclusively to cushion your tush while you’re playing the cajón. Of course, a non-slip rubber mat can provide stability, but the best thing about this seat is that the top cushion part and the base part are separate pieces, so the seat rotates 360 degrees!! I recommend this item for players who play the cajón together with multiple percussion instruments at the same time! It gives you comfort and free movement so you can solely focus on the music☆

SCHLAGWERK PERCUSSION) / SR-FPS10

The last one from my list is this floor percussion set that combines a Side Kick, a Sizzle Board, and a Krix. As you can see in the video below, this instrument is designed to be stepped on in order to produce a sound, but it’s great that the Sizzle Board and Krix are removable! An attractive point is that these instruments are customizable and can adjust to any genre of music. If you only use the Side Kick, you can make a crisp sound, add the Sizzle Board for a sizzle sound, and the Krix adds the jingle sound.
