We have a banjo ukulele, too!

Lately I’ve been talking a lot about ukuleles, but there’s still one I haven’t introduced to you yet!
Similar to the banjo in principle, it has a tensioned REMO head like a drum head on the body top, which resonates the string vibrations with the bridge on the head; it’s called “banjo ukulele”!

I tried some phrases on it that I always play on the ukulele, and it sounded wonderful! Totally like a banjo. It has a short sustain with a light, bright sound! When strumming, harder strummed songs come off better than calm songs. If you play it in fingerstyle, it sounds more like a banjo!

Turning the screws on the rim changes the tension of the head, which in turn changes the tone. It’s easier if you use a drum tuner.
