Guitars With Unique Aesthetics? Untraditional Electric Guitars

Introduction

To all of you who are looking for a guitar at Sound House. Electric guitars come in a variety of designs. The rugged but cute Telecaster, the burly and rocking Les Paul, and the classic and stylish Stratocaster. They are all so cool that it's hard to decide which one is right for you.
But wait a minute. If you broaden your horizons a bit, you will see a number of unique guitars that are somehow different from the more classic models. And, each of these models has its own unique charm!

So this time, I would like to introduce you to a guitar that is a little out of the ordinary from what you often see, but not completely out there. In this issue, I will introduce guitars with specifications that are a little different from the old classics.
I have gathered three models priced under 100,000 yen, so whether you want a lasting first partner or are looking for a new friend, please check them out.

BACCHUS Windy

The Windy is a Jazzmaster type guitar with a long scale neck and offset body. However, if you look closely, it may be quite different.

Windy is equipped with P90 type pickups. This is a single-coil pickup originally developed by GIBSON and installed on Les Pauls and SGs. They look similar to Jazzmaster pickups, but they are actually different. Not only do they sound different, but they are also different in size, so those who are thinking of replacing the pickups should be careful.
The bridge is also different. It’s a T.O.M type that is often used on GIBSON guitars such as Les Pauls. The strings are fixed by the stop tailpiece, which is independent of the bridge. No arm is attached.
A small difference is that the pickup selector is on the upper left, which is something that I personally appreciate.

These features give the impression that it is closer in sound to the Les Paul Special than to the Jazzmaster. On the other hand, the playing feels like a Jazzmaster. The offset body is easy to hold and the contoured finish makes it very easy to play.

The body of this model is made of nato (similar to mahogany) wood, but there are many variations such as a model in which this is changed to ash or a so-called Telemaster type model. This is the guitar that I am currently recommending.
Regrettably, it is not sold at Sound House. As a user of BACCHUS guitars, I hope that more people will use Windy and BACCHUS guitars through this store.

I also recommend this place!

SQUIER Contemporary Jaguar HH

SQUIER Contemporary Jaguar HH

Next is FENDER's low-priced brand, SQUIER. Since it is a direct descendant of FENDER, we are happy to be able to proudly call it Jaguar.

Jaguar was originally developed as FENDER's top-of-the-line model. The most distinctive feature of the Jaguar is its many mechanical switches. They are cool, but the circuitry is complicated and prone to failure, or they are fixed with tape because they change on their own when hit by a hand. ...... It is a design that somehow has some unrewarding aspects.
The Contemporary Jaguar retains some of that look, but has been fundamentally redesigned in terms of functionality. Gone are the preset and low-cut switches, and in their place are coil-tap pickups and series/parallel switching.

Coil tap is a function that allows a humbucker to be used as a pseudo single coil. The classic Jaguar is equipped with a single coil, but this model has a humbucker. While humbuckers have less noise and more power, they are difficult to produce delicate sounds, and if the sound is not properly made, they can easily become disconnected. So by using coil taps, it is possible to reproduce the jangly sound that is typical of Jaguars.

In addition, the bridge, which was considered a weak point of the Jaguar and prone to string dropping and there’s the floating tremolo, which was prone to tuning issues, have been replaced with a T.O.M. and tailpiece. Note, however, that arming is no longer possible.
From its specifications and fresh, eye-catching coloring, this guitar has a modern feel. It may be worth considering when you want to play a wide range of music.

Yamaha Pacifica 611 VFM

Yamaha Pacifica 611 VFM

Lastly, I would like to introduce one that many of you may already know. It is the YAMAHA Pacifica 611 VFM, which exploded in popularity due to the influence of an anime. I have bitter memories of when I wanted to buy a Pacifica. The sudden popularity caused the selling price to rise and the product became out of stock, so I gave up in tears. ...... Thanks to that, I was able to find the aforementioned Windy.

Now back to the Pacifica's specifications. The pickups are a rare combination of a P90 in the front and a humbucker in the rear. The front pickups are sweet and the rear pickups are strong, and I think the design is easy to use, just as the position suggests.

One of the great things about Pacifica is that it uses such high-quality parts that it seems too cheap for its price: Seymour Duncan pickups, Wilkinson tremolo unit, Grover locking tuners, GraphTech nut, and so on. The cost of the parts alone could account for a large percentage of the price of the guitar.

The shape of the guitar is a strat-type. However, it is quite different from a normal Strat. The design of this area may be a part of the product that tends to divide people's tastes. However, when you actually play it, you will find that it is still easy to play like a Strat, and the long scale doesn’t make it difficult to hold the strings. The nut width is 41mm, which is quite thin.

Pacifica offers a wide range of models, from those priced at about 30,000 yen to those with high grade parts like this model. Players can choose the best model according to the specifications they themselves require, such as pickup configuration and tremolo, or no tremolo. For those who want to practice with a good guitar as a beginner, I recommend picking one up first.

To Summarize

I know that the standard ones are good, but I somehow don't want to choose them. I know exactly how you feel. The guitars I have introduced here are all ones that have caught my eye.
For those of you who are artistic and want to express your individuality through the guitars you use, I hope you will give these guitars a try.
Thank you for coming back to read this issue.
