Hi everyone, nice to meet you! I'm Mushi Koi! Do you play guitar? There are many brands of guitars in the world. The market price for Fender guitars starts from 100,000 yen, which is a price that is hard to come by. But this time, I was able to get a Fender guitar for 40,000 yen at Sound House! Of course, it’s brand new and it's not just a super rare pokemon.

Look at the Fender logo on the head. Now I own my dream Fender. I don't remember there was such a thing as a Redondo electric guitar.
The Reveal
Yes, the act ends here. Without further ado, I would like to introduce the Fender California Series Player, which is the electric acoustic guitar made by Fender. Fender is famous for electric guitars such as Stratocaster and Telecaster, but in fact, they also make acoustic guitars! The price is relatively inexpensive compared to electric guitars. You can buy a Fender acoustic guitar for as little as 20,000 yen.

The Player series I introduced here is an electric acoustic guitar featuring the familiar Strat-type matching head and a wide variety of body colors. The colors range from the well-known sunburst paint, to the pale blue Slate stain, the bright blue Aquo Splash, to even Shell Pink. Recommended for those who want an unusual guitar that is a little different from the rest.
Three sizes are also available. Malibu, the smallest, New Porter, the middle, and Redondo, the largest. All are named after beach cities in California, USA. To make the sizes easier to understand with other acoustic guitars, Malibu is OO (double O), New Porter is OOO (triple O), and Redondo is a dreadnought. In addition, you can choose to have a cutaway or not.
Since it is an electric acoustic guitar, it is equipped with Fishman pickups, with adjustable Bass, Treble, and Volume, and a tuner function, which comes in handy.
The neck is thin and has a C-shape for easy gripping. It is designed to be an easy transition from electric guitars. The fingerboard is made of beautiful walnut. The back of the neck has a smooth finish for easy chord changes. Fret count is 20 frets.

The body also has a slightly rounded shape that’s different from other acoustic guitars. It is said to be an original Fender design that combines vintage taste and modern practicality.
As for the sound, it is not a bright sound, but it’s a dry sound. I think it's perfect for recording backing vocals for idol songs. Of course, it can also be used for solo guitar and storytelling.
About the Guitar I Got This Time
Let's move on to the introduction of the guitars I acquired this time. The following is my personal opinion. I bought this guitar in a limited edition color, Surf Green, which is a light green color not found in any other guitars made by other manufacturers. The size is Redondo, the largest model with a cutaway.

My first impression when I held it was “light”. Light weight is a good thing. When you move around on stage, it is better to have a light weight.
Holding the neck. The neck is more like an electric guitar than the actual electric guitar that I also own, and it's very easy to grip. And, you can see the matching Strat-shape head with six pegs on one side. It really feels like holding an electric guitar, but when you put it on your foot, it feels like an acoustic guitar. It feels a bit like holding it up, unlike an electric guitar.
The top paint is a light green called Surf Green, but the back paint is a satin brown, or a slightly darker brown that feels smooth and silky, and the gap between the two is already lovely.

I'm going to play it right away. The sound is a bit dry, with a firm bass sound, which is typical of dreadnought type instruments. It has a nice sound. I connected a shield and checked the sound of the pickups. It sounds like a crisp, clean sound of an electric guitar with a strong compressor applied. It’s good enough to use as an acoustic guitar. You can see the sound in the video from Fender's official website.
As a bonus, I connected it to a high-gain amp for electric guitar and played a guitar solo. I thought, “well... it's usable... I think.” I think it is well put together for an electric acoustic guitar priced at 40,000 yen.
