Hello!
I’m Kaoru and I’m a composer!
When you choose an effects pedal, what do you prioritize?
Functionality? Ease of use? Size? Value? Design? The brand?
Everyone has their own preferences, right?
I think all of these are important, but it's rare to find one that satisfies every single requirement.
So, this time, I’m going to round up some effects pedals available at Sound House that excel in "design"!
In the middle of my research, there were some that shocked me so much I thought, "Are you kidding me... (astonishment)."
This is a must-read for effects pedal enthusiasts!!
Let's take a look!!
Walrus Audio / Julia V2
An effects pedal with a portrait of a woman that exudes a unique atmosphere.
It looks kind of like a T-shirt (lol).
This pedal is a chorus/vibrato pedal.
A key feature is the natural sound characteristic of its analog circuitry, which feels very pleasant!!
The control system is equipped with Rate, Depth, Lag, DCV (Dry/Chorus/Vibrato), and a waveform toggle switch, enabling a wide range of sound creation.
"Changes from the original Julia:
・Jacks moved from the side to the top
・Changed to a soft-switch type footswitch
・Updated artwork on the enclosure
There are no changes to other functions, etc."
Apparently, that's it!
Please make sure it matches your personal setup before purchasing!!
WARM AUDIO / Foxy Tone Box Fuzz
I remember feeling shocked when I first saw this.
Unlike conventional effects pedals, it features a unique structure with all of the controls placed on the side.
It’s a design you don't see very often, am I right?
But when you think about it, it’s actually quite a logical design.
You can rest easy knowing there’s no risk of your foot hitting the knobs or switches when stepping on the pedal.
Moreover, since it’s made by "WARM AUDIO," which is highly regarded for its high-end audio equipment, the sound quality is top-notch!
As you can see if you watch the official video, despite having a thick, meaty sound, it has great note definition, making it seem very versatile!
PIGTRONIX / Infinity 3 Double Looper
Looking at it from the front, it’s a standard, chic-looking looper.
However, when you look at it from the side, I think you’ll notice its brilliance.
That’s right... it has a structure with a subtle incline. By doing this, even when incorporated into an effects board, the "footswitches are easy to press" and "visibility is outstanding"!!
This little bit of consideration is very much appreciated!!
Of course, functionality hasn't been compromised either.
With two independent loops, a streamlined user interface, and the ability to execute actions like starting overdubs, switching between loops, or stopping at loop boundaries, it's incredibly versatile.
Even if you're a solo performer, this alone will vastly expand the range of your performance!
Gamechanger Audio / PLUS Pedal
A design that looks exactly like a piano pedal.
This is a groundbreaking pedal that enables sustain/sostenuto for all kinds of instruments, including guitar, bass, and wind instruments!
It would be interesting to have this in your effects board, wouldn't it?
If you want to check out the effect, please take a look at the official YouTube channel!
DR.NO / TURD FUZZ
It uses a soft foam material shaped like... well, a piece of poop, and you can turn the effect on by pressing down firmly on it.
When you step on the unit to turn the effect ON, the fly's eyes light up.
It is said to be completely handmade, crafted carefully with a lot of time and effort.
Please note: Since it is handmade, there may be variations in color and cracks. Please understand that you may not receive one exactly identical to the product photo.
The handmade circuit uses two pairs of New Old Stock (NOS) transistors, capable of producing that good old-fashioned fuzz tone.
It has an ultra-simple control system with only a volume knob!
I have seen many people's effects boards, but I’ve never seen anyone using this pedal.
Calling all effects pedal maniacs! What do you think?? (lol)
DR.NO / SKULL FUZZ
A creepy fuzz pedal featuring a skull with bulging eyeballs.
The exposed eyeballs allow you to control the amount of distortion and the volume.
You can change the type of fuzz using the mini-switch located on the side.
Note: Like the one above, this is a product where each unit has its own unique character. Please be aware of this in advance.
It is a limited production run, so if it sells out, you might never encounter it again!
If you’re interested, be sure to buy it early!!
TC ELECTRONIC / JUNE-60 CHORUS
An effects pedal that faithfully recreates the chorus sound of the legendary synthesizer that took the world by storm in the 80s.
The retro design is really eye-catching.
The two-button interface allows you to quickly switch between modulation tones.
Dual chorus mode is also possible.
It’s a stylish design, intentionally manufactured using the technology of that time.
It’s also easy to incorporate since it is low-priced!
With that, I have collected some unique and stylish effects pedals!
Looking through various products, I felt it once again...
Sound House's selection is incredible!!
I highly suggest that all of you should check it out too!!
