Replacing the Main PCB on the ePAR64 RGB LED PAR Light

This time around, I’m showing you one of the STAGE EVOLUTION / ePAR64 RGB LED PAR lights that was sent in for repair.

This PAR light was sent to us by a customer for repair because it does not turn on.

Let’s check the symptoms.
First, connect the PAR light to the power outlet.

The light won’t turn on. The screen on the back also won’t display anything.
Now, I can see the symptoms. I’m going to find what is wrong.

Make sure that the fuse is not blown.

A fuse is a device that prevents heat or fire when a large current flows through the electrical circuit to protect the device.

The fuse doesn’t seem to be blown, so the issue is probably due to the board inside.

Remove the screws and the LED board, you can see some boards:

• Power supply board converts the power supplied from the outlet to the voltage used inside the device
• Board that exchanges the DMX signals
• Display board used for controlling the device with buttons
• Main board that controls various operations

The first thing considered to be the issue is the output of the power supply board.
If this part has an issue, controls on the screen and LEDs won’t work.

This power supply board converts the AC100V power supplied from the outlet to DC12V.

Use a tester to check if DC12V is properly outputting.
The tester shows the voltage is properly outputting, so no issues seem to be in the power supply board.

The issue could be because of the main board.

Since the main board is connected to the DMX board, display board, and LED board, nothing works if the main board has an issue. Let’s replace it with a new one.

Turn on the power after replacing the main board.

The screen turns on and the buttons work properly. It seems to be because of the main board issue.

I will also check if the LED lights turn on.

The LEDs are lighting up properly. It works fine with the mixed colors as well.
After checking each function such as sound active and DMX modes, the repair is now completed.

This time, I only replaced the main board, but other sections may have issues like the LED board not lighting properly and DMX communication not working even after replacing the main board.

Last but not least, if the lighting product does not work properly, please check the following.

• The light does not light up
  →Check if the power cable is properly connected.
• The light is dark
  →Clean the lens.
• The power does not turn on
  →Check if the power cable is properly connected.
  →Check to see if the fuse has not blown.
• Sound active function does not work
  →It may not work for the hitting microphone sound, quiet, or fast continuous sounds.
