• [Alexandros] Satoyasu Shomura retires after releasing Best Of album in May

  [Alexandros] drummer, Satoyasu Shomura, has announced on the official website and social media accounts that he will be retiring from the band after the Best Of album, scheduled to be released in May.
  Satoyasu Shomura had suspended activities with the band since June last year after being diagnosed with "focal dystonia", and was planning to engage in limited activities after consulting with a physician. However, the illness will not allow him to continue. [Alexandros] After many discussions with members and staff, they respected his will and the difficult decision he came to. In addition, the band members and staff express their sincerest wishes for Satoyasu Shomura's new life in the future, and announced that he was "going away" instead of "quitting" the band.
  I think many fans were looking forward to hearing his drums once more. I look forward to Satoyasu's future activities.

  The Winter NAMM Show, described by organizers as "the world’s largest trade-only event for the music products, pro audio and event tech industry", is held every January. This year again, musical instrument manufacturers, those in the music trade, and musicians from all over the world gathered in Anaheim, California. New products from manufacturers around the world filled the booths. There were live shows and demonstrations everywhere we went and the atmosphere was enthusiastic, to say the least. Sound House staff report on the magnificent displays of guitars, basses, drums, keyboards, wind instruments, PA equipment, recording software & peripherals, lighting equipment and more, that make up the NAMM Show!

  Conquistador and Clermont, semi-hollow guitars, are now available from SUPRO. Designed in collaboration with Nashville-based guitarist Ford Thurston. While keeping the conventional SUPRO double-cut body shape, the idea was to increase the dimensions of the body proportionately to match the design of the typical "335" semi-hollow guitar designed by Ted McCarty.
  The Clermont is a flat-top semi-hollow guitar made of maple. Equipped with two mini humbucker-sized Gold Foil pickups, it outputs a wide range of clear and powerful sounds. The practicality of the roller bridge is also attractive.
  The Conquistador is a semi-hollow guitar that uses mahogany with a beveled cut. A Gold Foil pickup similar to the Clermont neck and an Alnico 3 PAF style humbucker in the bridge position provide vintage clarity and brilliant tone. The looks, with the saddle bridge, and sounds that shout vintage are attractive.
  Both guitars have a smooth satin-finished neck back, Bigsby B7 vibratos, Hoffner-style cream/gold "tea cup" knobs, and 50's style wiring that maintains top-end shine when the pickup volume is lowered. Not only do they look great, but they also sound great and are comfortable to play. These guitars are a well-balanced mix of retro and modern.
