DRAWMER has announced the "MQ-1" and "MQ-2," 7-band proportional Q equalizers inspired by the legendary "Motown EQ." These units faithfully recreate the EQ curves used in renowned Detroit studios of the 1960s. The mono 7-band EQ "MQ-1" features the highly acclaimed CRUSH function, also found in the dual 4-band parametric EQ "1971." When activated, CRUSH adds pleasing harmonic saturation and the rich warmth unique to analog gear, giving any signal a distinct character. It enhances the low end with thickness, adds presence to the midrange, and brings a beautiful sparkle to the high frequencies. The MQ-2, a stereo 7-band EQ, is more than just an EQ; it has a single-knob compressor that adjusts the envelope according to the characteristics of the signal, and the order of the EQ and compressor signal paths can be interchanged to meet a variety of needs.
