Following on the heels of the entry-level model #1 grade of the YAMAHA Electric NX series of nylon-string guitars released in February 2020, #3 grade is now available! The lineup includes the "NCX", which has the same fingerboard width as a classical guitar, and the "NTX", which has a design closer to that of an electric guitar for comfortable switching between models. The new NX series adopts a bracing design that has been improved by making full use of the latest acoustic analysis simulation technology and combining the process of simulated trial production and the actual woodworking. Utilizing the experience and knowledge cultivated through years of classical guitar production, YAMAHA has arrived at the optimum bracing for both the "NCX" and the "NTX", and have improved the live sound of the guitar body when unplugged. The newly developed "Atmos feel" 3WAY hybrid pickup system tuned exclusively for nylon strings is used. The contact sensor mounted under the front plate uses the high-frequency vibrations of the front plate, the vibration of the strings (mid-low range) with the undersaddle pickup, and the ringing of the body of guitar with the microphone mounted inside. It is a hybrid system that gives you the feeling of the air inside the body for the low range. Above all, the contact sensor uses a thin, light, yet durable material to reproduce overtone components that cannot be picked up by a piezo pickup. By blending this sound with the sound from the three sensors, it aims to reproduce the natural nylon string sound even with line output. The preamplifier mounted on the body side has a simple structure that can be operated with three intuitive knobs. By simply controlling the master volume, mic blend, and Treble EQ, you can create the perfect sound for a variety of playing styles including solo playing, playing in a band ensemble, and playing while singing.
