What do you use for tuners? There are many different models of tuners on the market from various instrument manufacturers, each with its own characteristics and strengths. Many players may be particular about their choice of tuner, which is surprisingly profound.
So this time I would like to tell you about my favourite tuner, TC Electronics' best-selling Polytune 3. If you are considering a new tuner, I hope you will find it useful.
Fantastic Polyphonic Tuning!
As one of the main features of the Polytune 3, we cannot ignore the polyphonic tuning!
The unit has a total of three tuning modes. The first is the chromatic tuning mode, which allows you to tune to an accuracy of +/-0.5 cents. This is probably the most common and standard mode. The second is the strobe tuning mode. In this mode, you can tune to a very high accuracy of +/-0.02 cents. The difference is obvious when compared to the chromatic mode, and you can take your time to tune with great accuracy.

Lastly, I showed you the polyphonic tuning mode, which is the most distinctive feature of the unit. In this mode, you can tune all the strings from 1 to 6 at once. When you play a chord on an open string, the display on the left shows the tuning status of strings 1 to 6 respectively. In this picture, the 5th string is slightly out of tune. This function is definitely useful when you want to check the tuning quickly, as it automatically enters this mode when you play a chord, without the need for any particular settings!
Also, I personally really enjoy the fact that I can tune six strings on one screen and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it yet!
Fantastic Buffer!
Polytune 3 is equipped with the company's Bonafide Buffer. This buffer is so good that it is even sold as a stand-alone buffer (TC ELECTRONIC / BonaFide Buffer). It is great in that it produces a clear sound without changing the character of the original sound! The fact that it has a buffer that is very popular on its own also makes it a great value for money. I personally like that aspect, too.
By the way, it can also be set to True Bypass, so you can switch between the two by operating the switch on the left side of the right image. This switch, in addition to switching the bypass function, can also be used to set the display to always on in buffer mode.
I think one of the main reasons for this best-selling tuner is that it is designed to meet a wide range of player needs!

These are just a few of the many attractions that we have found while using the Polytune 3 in practice. You can learn more about the features of this product by looking at the product page and the product video. Please take a look!
