Hello everyone. My name is Nishino, and I am in charge of drums.
There are various genres of music, and drummers change their playing styles, settings, instruments, and drumsticks to suit each genre through trial and error.
In this issue, I would like to introduce TAMA's drumsticks to help you choose the right drumsticks, which is one of the most difficult tasks for many of them.

Original Series
This is a standard series that uses TAMA's original combination of sizes and tip shapes. A wide range of materials are used, including hickory, oak, and maple, making this a popular model with a long history and many loyal users.
The hickory wood is available in 6 types from 13 to 16 mm, making it easy to choose the size.
TAMA / H213-B Drumstick Hickory matte finish
The H213-B uses the most orthodox cylindrical tip to minimize variations in sound depending on the hitting point, making it a recommended drumstick for beginners.
Oak sticks are also available in three sizes for players to choose from!
TAMA / O215-B Drumstick Oak matte finish
Among them, O215-B is a long-selling product and many people must be using it! This drumstick achieves outstanding sound with the overwhelming power of oak wood adoption + 15mm grip diameter and tight tone by ball tip, which provides excellent sound release.
Hickory models with rubber grips to prevent slipping are also available in our lineup! The size lineup includes 14mm and 15mm sizes to match players who want to produce more power! Special rubber that shrinks with heat is attached to the grip section to prevent slipping while playing due to perspiration.
TAMA / H214B-PG Drumstick Hickory matte
I especially recommend the 14mm grip diameter. During a live performance, you will sweat under the lights! If you are looking for speed and power, this is the perfect stick for you!
Traditional Series
This series uses traditional sizes such as 7A and 5B. The lineup has included many hickory and oak models, and now three more products have been added based on the popular "M-JAZZ" model! The series has evolved into a series supported by jazz drummers.
TAMA / M-JAZZ Drumstick Maple matte finish
The M-JAZZ is a long-selling classic! By adopting a small ball-shaped jazz tip, this drumstick is suitable for low volume play and delicate cymbal legato. Get this one first! It all starts from there!
TAMA / M-JAZZ-2 Drumstick Maple matte finish
Compared to the M-JAZZ, this model has a standard grip diameter of 14mm and a shorter overall length of 393mm. In addition, the use of an ultra-small Acorn tip makes it easier to change the tone, and you can expect an even more dynamic feel when playing cymbal legato!
TAMA / M-JAZZ-3 Drumstick Maple matte finish
This model has an extremely thin grip diameter of 12.75mm compared to M-JAZZ. It features an oval (egg-shaped) tip designed for a variety of situations, and can produce a variety of tones depending on the angle at which it is applied to the hitting surface. Please refer to the photos below!

TAMA / M-JAZZ-N Drumstick Maple matte finish
This model is based on the thickness and length of the M-JAZZ with a small nylon tip. The nylon tip allows for cymbal legato and other shimmering cymbal work. Once you start hitting cymbals with nylon tips, you might never go back to wood tips!
Sticks for timbales are also available in the lineup. They are made of standard hickory wood and are 11.5 mm in diameter and 410 mm in length.
Suede-Grip
This series has a strong anti-slip finish, using anti-slip paint used for flooring in the finish. The appeal of this series is that it prevents sticks from slipping while playing and holds them firmly in place. I would like those who tend to fly off their sticks to give this a try.
TAMA / H215B-SG Drumstick Hickory Anti-Slip Coating
The thicker stick with a 15mm grip diameter made of standard hickory wood and anti-slip coating can be the best solution for power players! There is also a model with oak wood as shown below, so you can choose according to your preference!
TAMA / H213B-SG Drumstick Hickory Anti-Slip Coating
Both hickory and oak are also available in a thinner type with a grip diameter of 13 mm. The ball-shaped tip reduces variation in sound, and this model is also recommended for jazz drummers. This stick might solve your problems!
Stagemax Series
This series pursues a natural grip with no paint applied at all. This model is recommended for drummers whose sweaty hands cause the sticks to slip while playing. The lineup includes hickory and oak wood.
The oak models are available in 13mm and 14mm.
TAMA / O214B-MS Drumstick Oak Unpainted
This is a very natural gripping drumstick that makes me recommend it first to anyone considering a thin, unpainted stick.
The hickory wood models are available in four types ranging from 13 to 15 mm!
TAMA / H2145B-MS Drumstick Hickory Unpainted
Personally, I especially recommend the H2145B-MS. The grip diameter is 14.5mm, which is slightly thicker than usual, so it feels comfortable to hold even without paint, and the tone of the closed rim shot is outstanding!
The only way I can tell you this is to try it, but if you play a closed rim shot with a slightly deep-bodied snare, you will hear a great sound! It's a drummer's preference, but I would like you to give it a try.
Signature
This signature series is filled with the artist's attention to detail in diameter, length, and weight balance.
All sticks are recommended by top artists, making this the strongest lineup yet!
If you find a model of your favorite artist, you are sure to buy it immediately!

How was it? There are many things to consider when choosing drumsticks, not only the material and size, but also the tip shape and non-slip coating! You can use different sticks for different kinds of music, or you can continue to use one stick for your own sound!
I hope that all drummers will gain a better understanding of stick selection and find the best sticks for themselves!
