Over the past few years, social media platforms like YouTube have become very popular, and people are looking at their screens more and more. Even in such a situation, there was an event that made me realize how important it is to be exposed to the sounds of live musical instruments rather than watching from a screen. Children don’t have to play on real grown up instruments, but they can play on toy instruments such as toy pianos or simple percussion instruments that are made for children!
So, for this second post, I will introduce some musical instruments for children that I was not able to introduce in my previous post!
PLAYTECH / PGS100 Kids Glockenspiel
This children’s glockenspiel features a very colorful and cute design! Just because it has the word ‘kids’ in the product name, it is considerably smaller in size compared to full size glockenspiels. Even if they do not yet understand the concept of musical scales, children will probably be delighted by the changing tones when they strike the various keys with the sticks! In fact, when I saw a small child playing on the keys, he gave me a smile. The included sticks can be inserted into the top of the instrument so that it can be put away compactly.
PLAYTECH / PHB500 Bell
These stationary bells are shaped like little trees! This product is a stationary (tabletop) type, making it ideal for children who still find it difficult to hold and play handbells! Even though it is a desktop type, this product can be played by striking the bell part with a stick (stick sold separately). These handbells are perfect for eurythmics at nursery schools and for recitals at music schools. The cute design is different from ordinary handbells, and will surely attract your little one’s interest!
We also sell a set of the kids’ glockenspiel and bells that we introduced in the beginning of this article!
PLAYTECH / First Time Sound Play Set 1
If you are interested in both of these products, please consider this one, too!
PLAYTECH / PTP200 Toy Piano
The PTP200 is an upright toy piano that is a little larger than the PTP100 toy piano from the same series I introduced in the previous issue! It comes with a chair, an increased number of keys and wider range will make your child feel they are one step closer from the PTP100 to playing a real piano(^-^) It has a very pretty music box-like sound and this is a perfect gift for children! The toy piano can be the start of your child’s career as a pianist.
PLAYTECH / PSS100 Slide Whistle
Like a trombone, the pitch of this slide whistle changes by moving the slide! You can imagine children falling over laughing at the funny sound that this slide whistle makes. It may be useful not only for playing purposes, but also as a sound effect when reading your child a book or putting on a play! I think this will be a great gift for children who find joy in the smallest things. This is a particularly popular product in Sound House.
PLAYTECH / PWB200 Wood Block
At first glance, this may just look like any wooden box, but actually this is a wood block that produces a light sound when the top part is hit with a stick. Although castanets are often used in kindergartens and elementary schools, few children may have seen a wood block. Rhythm practice in music class is not limited to castanets, but children also enjoy playing on unusual instruments from time to time! Of course, they can also be played in ensembles. They are simple in design, but useful in a variety of settings.
What’s more, we also have the set product with the PHB500, so please consider this one as well!
What do you think? I am sure that children are very eager to try a musical instrument when they see it for the first time and are curious to know what it sounds like and how it can be played! Please give your children the experience to try all of these fun educational instruments!
