Have you heard of the ‘shoegaze’ genre, represented by bands such as The Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine, which is generally characterised by intricate guitars with feedback noise and deep distortion, repetition of minimal riffs, floating sounds and whispered vocals? In a word, it's a roaring rock. In this article, I will introduce some of the American shoegaze bands that have been particularly hot in recent years. Recommended for those who think “the bigger the sound, the cooler” and “I just want to be stoned with the music!! Of course, you should also listen to them if you don't!
DIIV
An indie-rock band from New York State with a slightly unusual riffing style that is addictive. While some of their songs make heavy use of tremolo arms and draw on a legitimate shoegaze lineage, their sound is relatively easy to listen to and easy on the ears. In the hot summer, listening to this might help you feel cooler!

Nothing
Another rock band from the USA whose sound has changed from hardcore to shoegaze. Compared to the aforementioned DIIV and UK shoegaze bands, their sound is characterised by a quiet passion, and should be listened to with a blast of sound! Anyway, this band is recommended for don't-shatter sound lovers and hardcore fans.
Ringo Deathstarr
Ringo Deathstarr, not Ringo Starr. They toured Japan after the Great East Japan Earthquake and have been coming to Japan often. Personally, I like the sacred atmosphere of the band, and you will definitely fall in love with the gap between the cheerful atmosphere at their live shows!
Letting up despite great faults
A dream-pop band with a less roaring sound and more dance-music-like beats and basslines. Their catchy riffs are so hard to get out of your ears that you find yourself humming along.

slow pulp
A young band with a fresh atmosphere in contrast to the introspective lyrics. They have released a wide range of songs, from those with beautiful arpeggios to those with cool guitar solo chalking. Records are also available, and playing them on holiday mornings may help you have a fulfilling day!
In addition to Jaguar and Jazzmaster, which are used by shoegaze bands, it is also fun to create sounds with SGs! ↓↓↓

So this time I introduced five recommended American shoegaze bands. Even if you don't usually listen to intense music, please take this opportunity to give them a listen!
