Finally, an all-in-one rechargeable personal PA system from JBL, "EON ONE Compact" is available.
The amazing point I focused on this time is...
The dedicated wireless control app, "JBL Compact Connect".
Controlling things with your smartphone or tablet... isn't this a trendy feature already? Of course, EON ONE Compact can be controlled via your device, too!! Let's have a look♪
1. First, download the app on the App Store.
https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/jbl-compact-connect/id1464116044
2. You’ll see this screen with iPad.
Tap SKIP to proceed.

3. Tap LINK to start connecting.

4. "Connecting" disappears when the connection is complete.

5. Tap MIXER to go to the screens for mixers, effects, EQ, etc.

You can control the volume of each channel, MIC to LINE switching, etc. all with a touch. When you adjust the volume fader on the screen, the adjustment is reflected on the main unit in real time. I know that’s normal, but when you actually see it happen, you'll be impressed. "It's connected!" lol
6. Tap EQ on a channel to go to the equalizer screen for that channel.

On the main unit, only BASS (low range) and TREBLE (high range) can be controlled, but on the app you can also use a 4-band parametric equalizer more detailed control. This diagram shows an unusual setting that was intentionally created for clarity. GAIN, center frequency, and bandwidth can be set individually, so you can create any kind of sound, from bold to pinpointing and cutting feedback.
7. Next, let's go to the FX (effects) screen.

There’s only a REVERB LEVEL knob on the main unit, but the app appears like this!! There are three types of reverb, each with a different sound, and you can add delay and chorus as well. You can apply various types of effects just by changing the combination.
8. Let’s go to next feature, the EQ-OUT screen.

Unlike the EQ applied to each channel, this one is for all channels. I made it jagged so that you can easily see that it’s an 8-band parametric type equalizer.
9. SNAPSHOTS is where you save and recall your settings.

Up to seven settings can be saved in total, so you can change it for each band. You don't have to write a lot of notes anymore. lol
10. On the FIRMWARE screen, you can check and update the EON ONE
Compact main unit firmware.

I can't help expecting that more and more useful features will be added in the future.
How was it? You can turn up the volume and change the sound even if you’re not near the speaker, and you can also control it in real time from where the actual listeners are. I think it’s so nice from the users’ point of view. For example, for singers playing an instrument at the same time – the PA engineer’s idea of reverb may be different from what the performer wants. So, you can just give the tablet to the performer and let him/her adjust it to their liking. You can create a good sound easily enough with just the controls on the EON ONE Compact, but the app allows you to pursue the sound you like even further, so why not try to make full use of it?
Well, I've introduced the functions of the wireless control app. But the EON ONE Compact itself has quite hot specs as well, so I’m going to introduce my personal points for recommending it.
● It’s light enough to carry in one hand, and has a built-in rechargeable
battery.
→ It weighs only 8kg, so even women don’t need to worry. The handle on the top is easy to grasp and feels comfortable. It’s okay even if there’s no power outlet at the venue!! You can use it continuously for up to 12 hours!! Even at large volumes, the charge will last 4 hours. That’s enough for an entire live show!!

● Digital Mixer with 4 Input Channels
→ Two channels that can be switched between microphone and line level, Hi-Z input to connect high impedance instruments such as electric guitars, and AUX (stereo mini or Bluetooth) convenient for background music playback. It has everything you need for an event with this size of speaker!!

● Above all, the sound is good.
→ In the end, it’s all about the JBL sound. The EON ONE Compact uses an 8-inch speaker unit, small as far as PA speakers go, but I was surprised because the low range is stronger than I’d expected. I tried it with a dance beat, and I felt this would be good for events like DJ parties and weddings because it really sounds good enough. Also, when I played vocal-focused music with the EQ flat, I got the impression that this was the JBL sound -- well-balanced, gentle on the ears, and easy to listen to. Without doing anything special, without having to care about anything, really, you just turn up the volume to get this quality of sound, which is easy and comfortable♪

There’s no doubt that the JBL/EON ONE Compact is a perfect speaker for places where there’s no power supply, like barbecues in the garden, small events like singing while playing an instrument in the park, and acoustic live shows!! Our speaker team highly recommends this multi-purpose unit from JBL!!
