Happy New Year everyone! I look forward to your continued support this year.
Now, my first blog post of the new year is a review of a certain product. This product is none other than this:
Xvive / A24 Guitar Wireless System
I got to try out Xvive’s new product the “XV-A24,” a classic wireless system that can be obtained at a compact size and affordable price. I’m the type of person who almost always uses wireless systems for studio practice and live performances (because I like to move around). Lately, I’ve been bothered by the fact that “wireless receivers surprisingly take up space on the pedalboard,” so I’ve been curious about a compact wireless system where both the transmitter and receiver are small.
This time, I’ll talk about the appeal of this product in three parts:
Function introduction, usage examples, and sound comparison.
Unboxing Ceremony
The main unit was stored in a case. Since it’s a semi-hard case, it’s sturdy. Wireless systems naturally involve a lot of carrying around, so this gives peace of mind!

When you open the case, it contains the main unit and a charging cable. This charging cable comes in both USB-A and USB-C types, with the USB-C being a Y-shaped cable that splits into two. With a single USB-A, you can charge both the receiver and transmitter simultaneously. Personally, I’m also happy that the port has been upgraded from Micro-B to Type-C.

Now, let’s connect it! …But first, it needs charging. While it’s charging, I’ll summarize the features of the A24 that I’m personally excited about.
- Channel count: 6 channels (up to 6 units can be used simultaneously)
- Switchable Active/Passive mode
- Equipped with Smart Channel Scanner
First, regarding the channel count: unlike the previous U2, which could handle 4 units simultaneously, the A24 can handle 6. This is reassuring for bands or situations where multiple people use it.
Next, the second feature is exactly what it says. Nowadays, there are many active guitars and basses, and some are switchable. Being able to switch modes with a single switch is very convenient.
As for feature 3, it’s just extremely convenient. When you turn on the power, it pairs automatically. Very impressive!
Let’s try playing it.
When I connected it and started playing, what surprised me again was how compact it is. With such a small and lightweight design, you barely notice it’s attached. Moreover, the connection angle can be adjusted, allowing for a stylish setup like this!

Regarding the sound, although there are slight differences, they are almost unnoticeable when playing.
A24 Crunch
Wired Crunch
A24 Lead
Wired Lead
Even when connected to digital equipment for recording and listening through headphones, there isn’t a significant difference. When played at higher volumes in a studio, the difference would likely be even smaller.
Also, latency wasn’t noticeable at all while playing.
Summary
This was my first time trying a compact digital wireless system, and I found it to be very practical. Considering its size and price, for me it’s a clear choice to make the switch. I plan to remove the wireless receiver I’ve been using and fill the freed-up space with effect pedals!
With that, I hope everyone enjoys having an awesome wireless setup.
