Intro
This time, we’re checking out the Jet Phaser, a legendary pedal from the 1970s that has been brought back by WARM AUDIO.
This is not just a simple phaser; the unique sound that comes from blending phase and fuzz is its real charm. I’ll give you a realistic impression of how it performs, covering everything from its tonal character to usability and how it fits into a pedalboard.

Impressions after trying it out (Sound)
● Phase Mode
Two-stage “classic” phaser sound. Mode 1 gives a subtle modulation, while Mode 2 produces a deeper, more pronounced swirl.
● Jet Mode
Four types created by combining Bright/Dark × Shallow/Deep settings. Phaser and fuzz are engaged simultaneously. They’re ideal for glam rock tones and lead playing, and are especially fun when you turn up the RES (resonance) knob, which adds a strong sci-fi character to the sound.
● FAST/SLOW Switch
Pressing the switch increases the rate to maximum, allowing for smooth, rotary speaker–like transitions.
Usability & Handling
- The knobs and footswitches are laid out on opposite sides, making it visually intuitive and reducing the risk of missteps during live performances.
- The unit is large and sturdy (about 4.6 lb / 2.1 kg), so you'll need to reserve plenty of space on your pedalboard.
Comparison with Other Models
- Compared to the original Roland Jet Phaser (AP-7), this reissue improves usability with wooden side panels and true bypass.
- Unlike standard phasers or fuzz pedals, this is a unique unit that combines both phase + fuzz.
- It delivers a clearly different sonic experience from standalone pedals like the MXR Phase 90 or Big Muff.
Who Is This For?
- Players who are looking for that classic 1970s-style phase + fuzz combination
- Musicians who want to add a touch of retro as a live accent
- Not just for guitar; it’s also great for bass, keyboards, and other instruments to experiment modulation effects
