  ■ Professor Hiroaki Kanda Profile
  Hiroaki Kanda (Principal Flutist, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Professor, Toho Gakuen School of Music) won first prize in the Japan Flute Convention Competition and the Japan Wind and Percussion Competition.
  He graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1993, and studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna for a year in 1995. He studied under Keiichi Akahoshi, Changguk Kim, Junzo Hosokawa, Wolfgang Schulz, and Hans-Georg Schmeisser, and is a member of THE FLUTE QUARTET.
  He is a member of THE FLUTE QUARTET, a visiting professor at Osaka University of Arts, and a lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts. He is also a specially appointed director of the Japan Flute Association. He has released many CDs so far.
  In 2018, Ongaku no tomo-sha published "Basic Flute for Improving". He has arranged and published over 60 titles of flute ensemble works, mainly for quartet, but also for duet and large ensembles.
